Short poll - would be interested in the results - many thanks.

This is PURELY for a happy hacker to wander around the countryside on - not some competition horse.

No more than 2k, but then I don't mind a horse that has the odd spook or buck, nor would I mind a young horse as I could "bombproof" it myself.
Also, for happy hacking they don't need to have perfect conformation.

Or maybe I'm just not that choosy?

LOL!! Oh crumbs - you and I are yet again on the same wavelength. I'd never pay more than £2k for a happy hacker either.

Problem being though that not many horses are advertised as just Happy Hackers because owners would expect to get a lot more if they can add "potential" for this and that etc, unless the horse is aged or has a physical problem which would reduce the price anyway.

I wouldn't pay anything for a happy hacker - I want to compete and don't see the point in spending money on a horse that can't do what you want to do

Snap! although PF is still not bombproof at all

Actually, I don't think I'd pay more than 1.5k

Well, I might get something to do longish leisure rides with and something I could lend my friends if they wanted to ride

I put £2000 if it was a happy hacker for me. If I was looking for a safe horse for a total novice I would expect the budget to be a little higher, as there is a value to a safe suitable for any rider

I would spend whatever my budget allowed for whatever I needed. A Grade A showjumper is of no use to me so I wouldn't part with a fiver for one. A good, safe happy hacker for my daughter and myself would be worth alot...I don't buy to sell though so I guess that make s a difference.

my friend has been looking for a safe hack for ages but she cant find anything that is under 3.5k.. so if anyone know of a nice cob which is safe and under 2.5k and 14.3-15.2. you know where i am lol

My little Mia is the safest pony i have, shes 6 yo and 13hh. Shes took many nervous riders out on safe hacks, will go alone or in a group, doesnt copy the horse infront.

She was advertised and i told this to the man that phoned, also said that she taught a girl to jump, and he offered me £500 for her

My happy hacker cost me £2.5k 16 years ago!
He was the best horse ever! great in traffic, happily take a 13 year old round villages etc never napped or bucked.
Turned out to be a fabulous allrounder too...

i wouldnt pay more than 1k for a happy hacker, i would be prepared to bombpoof it and also dont mind the odd spook and buck so wouldnt mind putting in some work as long as it was sane in the mind.
