I had to have my Mastiff Hooch pts tonight. I know it was the best thing for her and she had a packet of crisps and some cheese before she went to rainbow bridge. Plus beef for breakfast! I guess i knew in my heart of hearts things werent going to get better when i took her to the vets this evening.

She was a very special dog.

RIP Special Hooch. Walk free - I know you dont do running, sleep on the beds and steal the beef and puddings at rainbow bridge my darling. We will miss your cuddles so much. See you there mugglewump xxxxxxx

Thanks guys.

She will be missed but we have such funny and lovely memories. She was so true to type! All the books could have been written about her.

I am worried about my other dog as he was so devoted to her. Going to put the feelers out this week for a pup. But good mastiffs are hard to find. We will never find another Hooch but you know, all dogs are special. They all have their own characters. Hooch was a superb mastiff and a wonderful dog and we were so lucky that we found her and I think she was lucky to find us too.

She fell asleep in my arms. I think that is how she would have wanted it to be. She was her mummy's girl.

Got to go now. Too sad. You will understand.

Thanks everyone.

I have spent the day feeling miserable as has Tojo my other Mastiff. He is very lost without her as I knew he would be. She was his rock.

I have made contact with a recommended breeder via the OEMC (Old English Mastiff Club) who has puppies. The person was recommended by several people as a breeder of sound dogs. So hopefully we can find a new friend quickly.
