Evie is 4.5 months old and 25 inches tall. She thinks she is at least 18 hands high and bullies her poor mother and the other two little ponies in her paddock. I have no doubt she would have a go at the bigger ones if she could get through the fence!

She has recently decided that it is fun to follow me around the field and try to bite me at every opportunity. If she gets fed up with biting she isn't adverse to turning her bum on me and backing up...... although what damage she thinks she is going to do with those tiny hooves I don't know!

I have been telling her 'no' firmly when she bites, and making her back away from me.

This morning she took me by surprise when I was fussing one of the others and really got a good mouthful of my leg and bit hard. I yelled. Loudly. Very loudly. And swore. I turned round and Evie was galloping accross the field as fast her very little legs could carry her :D

She did come back after a few minutes of me calling her, but very slowly!

I have been back up this afternoon and she is still treating me with utmost respect and keeping a nice distance between us. She did pull one of her 'look at me, I'm a fierce and scary ginger ninja' faces for a fraction of a second, then decided against it :D

I am under no illusions. I know I have won todays battle, and will ultimately win the war, but I am sure there are going to be many more battles fought long and hard along the way. This little pony makes me laugh every day, she is so confident and moody and full of character. I love the little ginger madam to bits!

Here's the ginger one not happy with having to behave!

She sounds just like my miniature yearling, she tries to bite and when told a firm NO she looks at you as if she had no intention of doing anything naughty in the first place! She makes me laugh just looking at her she is so cheeky and full of character. Never thought I would have ponies but I love them and am awaiting a third one soon. Can't wait to have a youngster for my yearling to have to play with. Your's looks lovely she is so cute.:D

I love the little ponies, they have much more character than the bigger ones (sorry Fat Lad and Skinny Minnie!).

Oh, and appearances are decieving, she fullfills all the sterotypes of chestnut mares/fillies and Shetlands. She is one of those ponies who would dump a little rider at every opportunity, and if she couldn't get them off that way would get down for a roll..... :D

I have no advice or sympathy (serves you right for having such a cute little monster :) ) I just wanted to say she is a proper beauty and your story did make me laugh! Love it that she threatens you with those teeny hooves! X

She really is such a cutie, a friend of mine always laughs when mine behaves like a 'horse' as she says she is so much like a big dog it looks odd when she snorts or kicks out. I have begun to wonder if mine thinks she is a dog she comes into the kitchen and opens the cupboards looking for treats! Mine is a ginger ninja too.:D
