Look it's Chloe_GHE again!!!! My ears have burned right off with all the action my name is getting today
and if anyone feels like buying me that bracelet then feel free I'll send you my address
I need your help HHOers I have another 'Jack issue' So after 'the saga of the sore feet' he had his expensive gel pads stuck on and was feeling full of himself so.......Cue Jack racing about the paddock and completely jarring himself up!
I'm not very good at all when it comes to assessing injury or lameness from the ground so I hopped on him quickly to walk him in a straight line and feel for what was wrong. He felt curled to the right, but was not backing off his front feet at all so I could feel it wasn't a sore foot issue. On my hunch called out physio and she looked him over. She said he was sore on his loins (more so right/off side than left) and sore on his shoulders again (more so right/off side than left)
Muscle wise she said he was the most supple she has ever felt him, which is a huge step fwds, but that he has really jarred his ligaments hooning about, and this is why he is feeling the moving oddly now (in the last 4 days) So cue massage magnetic rug heat pads and box rest, and some walking out in hand for A WEEK!!!! Jack is not a good patient so I may be a bruise or two up by the end of next week
She is gonna reassess him after this week and then he can be turned out in a very small (eg not enough room to get up speed!) patch of paddock, and we will work out what to do next.
He is such a daft horse I am gradually as I try to prepare him to compete finding out all the dos and don't of Jack but he's not helping either by going hell for leather round the field when he is feeling well.
So.....any tips to stop him doing this again, any tips to avoid getting bitten to death as he hates being trapped in his box, and general methods to manage self harming ponies pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase.....
I swear he is reading my blog I am no longer going to type 'Jack is coming along nicely' in case he takes that as his cue to stamp on a flint or eat some ragwort!!!
I can offer a custard doughnut, some chewing gum, and I think I might have a fluffy soft mint kicking about in the bottom of my handbag for those of you who are really desperate!
Oh and........................IT'S FRIDAY AND EASTENDERS LIVE REVEAL SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been winding myself up about this all day so excuse me if I an unnaturally excited about what is essentially total trash TV
My money's on Roxy!
