He is lovely, tell us more about him, pleeeeeease?

He is an 8 week old German Longhaired Pointer ?

Half brother to Ivy, our 3.5yr old bitch. I’m hoping to have many years of fun with him, including showing, working and lots and lots of cuddling ?

He’s a very sweet boy, we only collected him yesterday

He’s got a very wise face. Lovely looking boy.

Thankyou ? That describes him well! He’s been well socialised so has been very polite with our girls and the cat, he’s had a good few car journeys with his breeder for acclimatisation and so that doesn’t phase him either.

We’ve just wandered round the local town carrying him to get him used to the sights and sounds and he was totally bored by the whole thing ?

Slapping myself now EB because of course you have the beautiful Ivy. Well Erik is sure to be as wonderful as she is . Looking forward to seeing him grow. His colour is lovely ( I know. I know ,colour doesn't matter in the big scheme of things, but he is soooooo pretty)

Ah Thankyou ? hopefully I can do half as good a job as my husband has done with Ivy. They’re both family pets but Ivy is his project and Erik is mine.

Well, it definitely helps when they’re pretty ??❤️

Thanks so much guys, we’re definitely smitten already ?

He’s had a busy day today, had a vet check, met my parents and their creatures (they do doggy day care for us a couple of days a week) and I took him into my husbands work to meet more new friends.

He was too tired to climb out of his crate so I had to slide him out on his vetbed… bothered?! ?

Another little update, as it’ll be nice for me to look back in over the coming years ?

So Erik has been with us for a whole week. He’s mastered crate training pretty well, sit, little baby living room retrieves and house training has been going very well too.

He has much more of an independent streak than Ivy had at this age, so coming in from the garden before he’s ready is taking some practice but we’ll get there ?? he’s going to be a challenge- but he’s an HPR so I was very much expecting that ?

He’s visited my work, my husband’s work, been carried through town on market day. He really doesn’t bat an eyelid about anything.

He was obviously too young to come on our last shoot day yesterday, but he wasn’t too young to join in with the pub at the end

Ivy is gradually warming to him- she was less than impressed to start with ?

Him and the cat made friends very quickly

All in all, I think we’ll keep him ? he’s already a real chunk, I’m not looking forward to having to carry him for the next 4 weeks!
