He is a beautiful dog.What a face!
I’m familiar ( in Italy)with the German wire haired pointers, but never seen l.h pointers yet.. the wires are very tough dogs.Your boy looks so sweet does the breed favour the softer “setter” temperament?( yes I know he’s a pointer).

First ringcraft class tonight, I’m expecting carnage 😁

He looks gorgeous! Sounds like a good plan to expect carnage, because if carnage does happen, you're mentally prepared for it, and can still leave the training thinking it didn't go worse than expected. If he isn't involved in any carnage, that's even better.

You are absolutely right! Setter was bred in when the breed was developed, and then again later on to lighten their bone and speed them up. They are much softer, more sensitive than the wirehaired pointers, and less hard headed 😊

He’s very sweet- but very cheeky too 😁😂

That’s my hope!! He’s a sweet (if cheeky 🙈) boy and hasn’t shown too much defiance just yet so hopefully we can start off on the right foot and don’t show ourselves up too much 😂

But if we do- at least I have his age as an excuse 😁excuse

Just a little Erik Update 😊
He’s a whole 4 months old now, he still thinks he needs to make ringcraft classes more blingy 🙄 but is a very chilled boy waiting his turn.

We’ve been very lucky to have had a couple of weekends up on the North Yorkshire moors with our HPR training club. Erik has learned to sit in the car and be bored whilst the big kids have all the fun. He’s also learned the very important social skills required to share an air bnb with 4 other dogs and people.

He got to have a bit of a run (and recall proofing session!) after the training day was done- my dog only runs on grouse moors don’t-cha know 😂

Ivy has decided he’s ok too- she had no choice as they had to be crate buddies for the 4hr journey each way 😁

Incase anyone was wondering- I absolutely adore the cheeky little monster 😂

Most of hers are a lot more white aren’t they? One of theirs took best bitch at crufts this year 😊 fabulous dogs!
Did it? I didn’t know that. I train with Mr GLP. Yes far more white than yours. Lovely dogs but masters of the 1000 yard stare 😃

I missed the latest photos EllieBeast and Erik is absolutely gorgeous. Love his curly little squared off ears ! He looks big !
Interesting the weight difference between your beautiful Ivy and my female Weim. I thought they would be similar but Molly is 26kg . Very tall, long and lean with a lot of muscle. I'm actually convinced she's not pure from the dads side.....but let's not go there:eek::D, she's amazing, I adore her and I don't want puppies!

Ivy is quite small for a GLP, the bitches are generally more like your bitches weight. It all depends on breeding lines- both Ivy’s parents are fairly lightly built and very athletic. Erik has the same mum but his dad has more substance. The dogs are generally a fair bit bigger anyway.

Have you got any photos of your girl? I just love the HPRs 😊 so you work her?

No working for Molly Moo. The lights are on , but i'm not sure what's at home :D
I used to go out with the hunt sometimes when I had the bleu de gascogne and my first male Weim, but really I just love their mad company and walking them in the forests . My boy Odes is currently getting his head around learning to go away left and right on command like a collie. Smart cookie got it really quickly too😍
I've only got puppy pics on my laptop ,so i'll try and take some new ones. I think you'll probably agree that there's some mysterious ' other ' breed there. Her ears are too long and she has brown ghost markings on her face and eyebrows. Judging by her build, character and markings , i'm thinking one of the bloodhounds here . Oh well😂
