Only trouble is I just measured her at only 14.2hh. The stud said she was 15hh but I knew she wasn't. I want her to grow another hand otherwise at 5' 10 I am going to look too big on her. What do you think? She is Two years 5 months and has only been fed hay and doesn't seem to know how to eat hard feed! I have ordered her some Pure Feeds stud mix. I am hoping that will help her to grow more.

Can't see through the rug! If she's 14.2 at 2 1/2 she has every chance to grow to 15.2. Stuffing her now probably won't make a great deal of difference on her ultimate height. Why don't you do the string test? I have found that to be a remarkably accurate predictor.

Well, I suggest you don't feed her so she stays small. Then, give me your address, and I'll be over to collect!! Bless her.
x
(She does look very sweet, and I do wish you all the best. x)

She is beautiful, and what a lovely colour - I wonder what her summer coat will be like? No idea on height, and I'm not the best one to ask as mine grew too big rather than not enough ;)

Ahh, she's lovely! My 2 & 3/4 yr old filly is 14.2hh, but has just had a spurt as all summer was 14hh, I expect her to make 15hh so I would say your lovely lady may well squeak up to 15.2hh

Love the floofy bear too :D

Well my friend bought a youngster at two who was only 14hh at his bum at the beginning of this year, string test said he would make barely 15.1hh he's about 14.3/15hh at the bum right now. He shot up after my friend started feeding him young stock feed and correct feeding and haying routine :) I now think he will make 16hh going by the way he has sprouted as he's not yet three.

She's hot a very pretty face can't wait to see her without a rug on :)

Thank you. I will get some pics without the rug tomorrow. It was all bit stressful with the weather. She's a buckskin WB x TB. Both parents were 16hh exactly. She arrived right in the middle of a storm, and the tackroom ceiling fell on us as we were doing the paperwork and payment! So I just put her out for a leg stretch in the arena. I will turn her out with the two boys in the photos tomorrow morning.

Thank you. She already whinnies to me. She spotted me poo picking down the field and whinnied, then followed me around the arena when she was turned out in there. She's a real sweetheart.

I tried the 'middle of knee to coronet band' one last night, whatever it is in inches is what she would be in hands. I think I have got that right, my boy came out at making 17hh!!! do you want to swap??? :-)

Blimey! He's a big boy. The yearling gelding here is already 16hh so I think he is going to be big too.

She's lovely, Wagtail, and I'm confident she will grow at least a hand more, you'll never part with her anyway :)

No, I won't. When I was on the phone to hubby today and told him how small she was he said 'Well it's not too late to change your mind...' Erm no! Even if I look a tad tall on her, I'm keeping her. It will give me an incentive to stay reasonably slim!

My old mare was 14.3 at three, 15.2 at five, so every chance she will be as big as you want. She looks lovely, lucky you.

She's lovely, my mare was 14.2 as a 3 year old and is now 15.1, she wasn't meant to make more than 14.2! I'm sure yours will grow another hand easy

Lovely! But please don't try to force her to grow by pushing high octane food into her, that way would lead to problems especially as she's half WB, they're notorious for getting growing problems if over fed. Rather than a stud mix, look at a balancer especially for youngsters alongside forage so she'd be getting what she needs without the calories. Off the top of my head there is D & H Suregrow or also the one from Gains Feeds, people are talking highly of that too.

Hope you have a lot of fun with her, she looks a real sweety.

Ooh, very nice! Not to mention the extremely sensible colour choice (hides mud brilliantly! :-D)z my youngster was 15hh at 15 mths and is now 16.2hh at 4yrs. I think at 2 he was about 15.1hh/15.2hh so I reckon yours have every chance of hitting 15.2hh. What's her breeding?

Oh no! I have just ordered 8 sacks of Pure feeds stud. I order 3 month's supply at a time so I get the discount. Maybe mix it with the Pure easy so it's not as potent? I was thinking that she would be okay as she was past the danger period and not overgrown. But maybe not! I have heard good things about suregrow so will have a look. Thanks.

She's WB x TB. Her dad is my favourite stallion that I wanted to put my late mare to , but then she injured her shoulder (the first time 3 and a half years ago). So it's nice to have one by him.
