Playing chess with pigeons
Oh I hope she keeps it. It’s really special and different. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a marking on a GSD.I will defer to MM on matters of showing GSDs specifically but from my experience showing other breeds, there's not technically such a thing as a disqualifying fault under UK KC rules. It would however be a waste of time and money to enter as judges can withhold due to lack of merit and I assume it would be considered highly undesirable (along with the other three white feet, white tail tip and the biiiig chest spot!)
Besides which, even if I'd picked her lovely dark sable sister these guys would stick out like a sore thumb in a show ring. Good job I have a pain in the arse of a show dog already. There's also no guarantees that any of the white will stay, or at least not to the extent it is now. I would be sad to see it all go but she is going to change colour a lot over the coming months. I was intrigued enough to want to find out!
Of course, it would be like taking a working lab in a show ring, I didn’t think.
