Menage Lighting - No Power Supply!

Hi, Im hoping that someone maybe be able to help...
Our problem is we have a lovely menage but don't have any suitable lighting. We don't have any power & there is no possibility that we will have in the future. We have been given permission by the YO to put up some temporary lights but they will have to be taken down as soon as it starts to get light again so nothing permanent. We're also not allowed a generator as the school is fairly close to the YO house & they don't want any noise disturbance.
We have been using some recharageable battery operated lights and have managed to light half the menage by using jump post's but its really not enough and the glare gets you every time you ride towards them.
I've looked at solar lights but the menage is surrounded by some pretty tall trees so I don't know how effective they would be.
We really need to find a solution that allows us to use the school in the winter. We don't need to jump as this can be done at weekends but just enough to carry out some schooling & stop the horses going crazy would be perfect.
If anyone has any solutions or suggestions as to what they have done that would be great. We don't have a massive budget either but really do need to try & sort something out.

You can get some pretty powerful charagable LED spotlights nowadays but as you say the height will be the issue (and I know this as I have them lighting my yard!) What you almost need is a light in each corner on a very long pole which folds down to turn them on and during the day/ high winds etc So long metal poles, some kind of fixing to attach the light so it can be removed for charging and at the other end some kind of vice grip to hold the poles in place once the lights have been turned on and the poles are stood up.

Cant be much more help than that because I havent got any further with this myself, lol!
 
I have just bought 6 x bulkhead lights that plug into a rechargeable torch to light up my barn (6 stables) for days when my genny is being temperamental and my OH isn't around to coerce it into life! V simple system but gives adequate light and is very reliable! The co is called bedazzled and it is their stable lighting system but am not sure if I am allowed to post link...... there is 5m of wire between each bulkhead (and you can get extensions) so you might be able to hang them somewhere high up - trees?
 
My OH has just rigged up some of the LED lights (bought off ebay 5 for aboout £18) off a car battery in the huge barn and they are so bright! They are very low wattage so last ages on the car battery. It's like day light in there and we even have a proper switch! You could maybe get some scaffolding posts and tie them to the school fencing?
 
These - and they're on special offer at the moment. They're slightly brighter than the ones on E-bay (only 3W but it all helps!)

We have one floodlight (at A) and it doesn't quite light the whole school so I have one of these to give the dark C end a bit of a helping hand. I reckon 4 would do a 20x40 (one each at A, B, C, & E). It's the perfect size to stick in the sheep netting that's on the outside of the arena post and rail so I use that to hold it in place but you might need to come up with a way of hanging them.

At Your Horse Live there were some solar powered lights for menages - cant remember what they were called - but a few stands had them ... they werent cheap but were very effective!!
 
Wow, thank you for all your suggestions. I just need to work out how to fix poles to the school fencing & then how to fix the lights to the poles. I'll contact bedazzled & see if they can help & have also found a website called eleko.co.uk that has a "pole system" that maybe could work for us.
Any ideas on fixing poles & lights again would be most appreciated

saw them at YHL, looks like a great system and remote controlled too, so you can choose how many to turn on while in the saddle :) Bit spendy for me at livery, but I'd have been tempted if i had my own place.

I have these for lighting our barn and a friend has them for her school. They are fab and last ages. I dont know if they are waterproof though?

These, you can also attach them to a leisure battery
 
Thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread....
Ive spoken to bedazzled & the guy was so helpful but didn't think their system would work for what we need but would be a good option for the feed room. I've looked at all the options suggested & spent most of yesterday either on the internet or making phone calls!
I think the clippersharp option will work best for us...just need to convince the OH that its an absolute necessity as it is probably one of the more expensive solutions. If anyone has any experience of the clippersharp system please let me know.
I just need to find out where to buy scaffold poles & how to fix them to the fence.
