Half my horses mane lies to the right then the top half to the left, how can I get it all to be on the same side, now I have tried plaiting it and leaving them in for a few weeks but it always seems to go back to as it was,

Anyone got any tips or how long you need to leave plaits in for..?

Or is he destined to be a scruff bag for good..?

But I want it all neat and tidy on the same side ;-)

Is that a shame, should I just leave his two sided mane alone.

How do other horses have this perfect mane on one side.? Just luck..?

Thanks ;-)

I'm guessing you mean for a big natural mane not a pulled one? Plait over whilst its damp, preferably wet. Don't do the plaits too tight tho, start the plait about an inch from the roots, otherwise once you take them out it will spring back. Whereas loose plaits you'll just get waves if that makes sense? I leave them in for a few days, then leave it down a few days then plait again etc. Takes a while but you do get there eventually.

No he has a pulled mane about 4 -6" long I'd say, so plait loosely on and off for a few weeks is that what you mean..?

If its pulled that makes it a bit easier as it won't be a hugely thick mane. Yes, do same, loose plaits few days in, few days out. If possible try not to pull it shorter for a few weeks, the extra length will help. And always make sure the roots are wet before plaiting
