Has anyone use micronised linseed for a good doer/laminitic prone?

I'm currently feeding tumeric, but my understanding is that it needs to be fed with an oil & black pepper to be absorbed properly. P is quite fussy about eating oil (I'm literally putting the smallest amount I can in, as I'm aware he doesn't really need the extra calories) and someone has recommended trying micronised linseed instead, as it will have a similiar effect to oil but most horses find it more palatable.

I'm only familiar with micronised linseed as a feed for encouraging conditions - something he definitely doesn't need! Has anyone fed a good doer/laminitic prone on linseed before?

Thanks :)

Yes all mine get linseed and have done for years, all native good doers. Just feed about a small mugful with something like Kwickbeet and they shouldn't put weight on, if they do then I would up the exercise rather than cutting out the linseed. Its great for coat and feet as well as joints

Yes I feed it to all 5 of mine who include a chronic laminitic, a veteran good doer, a young native good doer and a big WB and finally an ISH. I feed turmeric to all of them for a variety if reasons including arthritic changes, ringbone and suspected cushings. They each get a mug of ML a day and half in the case of the 10hh. I have experienced no problems with it.

Yes I fed it to fatty when he was seriously overweight and on a very restricted diet.
I think it's very important that horses on strict diets get some quality protein as well as good vits and minerals .
I gave him 150 grammes a day.

Echo the above posters...I have an EMS/good doer and he's been having micronized linseed in his diet for some 4 years now, for the reasons other have said above.

I feed a little more in Winter than I do in summer, he gets around 100gms in Summer and 150gms in Winter.
