Phew, thursday at last. What's everyone got planned?

I have a half day today so am taking Darcy out for arena hire this afternoon, at a competition venue I like. Not expecting anything great work-wise from him but it's good to get him used to being out and about again I think :)

Then crack of sparrow fart flight tomorrow morning over to Northern Ireland being a WAG as OH is on the Welsh clay shooting team and it's their home international.
Thanks to NI HHOers who suggested touristy things to do, I've got a looooong list of things I want to see :p

Have to leave the field delinquents in the care of a friend, hope they behave - millie has been in the wrong field 3/4 days this week so far

Pic of the naughty girls to kick the thread off... have fun all :)

We have our first ever My Quest Regional Final .... squeaky bum time :D:D At Beacons!! New venue, the arena looks lovely and not too spooky... Can't get there early enough for the arena walk as relying on OH to take me .. So I'm praying Rocks has his brave pants on!
We are on at 14:30.. please everyone have their fingers crossed!! We haven't broken the 70% barrier affiliated yet, would be an amazing time to do so!!

Have fun in NI MP, love Ireland!!!

Have fun Milliepops. I have a polework/cavalleti lesson Saturday, Bristol Half Marathon Sunday morning followed by a jump lesson in the afternoon  Goodbye legs!
Casual half marathon in the morning followed by a jump lesson!!!! WOWo_Oo_O

Have a brilliant time in NI milliepops..... The weather forecast is good for the weekend :) Enjoy.

F has had three lessons on his pony this week already, so she is now having a well deserved few days off....
especially after our 32km ride last Sat

I've entered Fionn and I in an unaff 70cm ODE on Saturday..... Excited and nervous in equal amounts.

Good luck everyone!

I’ve got most of tomorrow off work so we’re off to a local farm ride which has a cross country schooling field and I may do some jumps for the first time in a long, long time. Eek!

Lost my mojo a bit this week (week after holi-bobs) as not loving the colder weather and nights drawing in. But hoping to get it back again and ride tonight. XC outing with friends on Saturday and tack/rug sorting activities on Sunday.

Much needed holiday for me, I'm absolutely burnt out with work so no use to man nor beast. Went to the Dodson and Horrell Masterclass last night with Laura Collett and Harry Meade and came away absolutely buzzing with ideas and desperate to crack on (learning to jump without looking is the order of the day apparently!!!) but being at work today has sapped all my energy and motivation to do anything and have spent most of the day just trying to take deep breaths and count the minutes until tomorrow afternoon so looking forward to a brain refresher of no work, and a lot of sleep and beach time, although at the moment i'd rather be at home for a week with D!

No such luck for Denzel though! Two different lessons for him, an in-hand lateral/dressage lesson, a XC schooling session, and a friend hacking him out to try and keep the momentum heading up to pony club camp in October.

As always good luck to all, and healing vibes to those with poorly ponies.

Denbob I feel a bit like you! But I've just come back off holiday and a long time to the next one, sadly.

Katie is taking Dolly to the Eland Lodge team ODE. I was entered on Amber but have had to pull out. In fact our season is over - she is still lame. So I have pulled out of Kelsall too. Not that I care about the events. I just want her to be ok. Vet not yet wanting to investigate though - still thinks it's a time limited sprain/strain from twisting her shoe off. She was in a week then seemed a bit better so out in a small flat field, but back in now for another week-10 days then review.

Jenny still can't pass a flexion test either and buyers have understandably walked away. So I need to re-think my plans for her. Perfectly sound in normal work and vet happy for me to 'crack on' but she has no jockey really so I am just lunging her. Izzy is too big. We are x-raying her feet next week to see if we can see anything untoward.

So Jenny's weekend plans are to eat grass mainly!

My new jump fillers arrived yesterday so Blue and I tried them out in our lesson this morning 😟😅

Blue is possibly doing the puissance at SHOYs in a few weeks so we bought more bricks for our wall so he can practice - I refuse to jump it at full height 🥴

No shows for us this weekend but I have a couple of away-from-home lessons booked for Fleur, Blue ands Raz next week so they should be fun 🙂

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend

I'm rushing into a meeting after lunch, so haven't had chance to read what everyone is doing, but I hope you all have fun :D

I've got Frickley (2) AE on Sunday, and Saturday will be spent making Sky some kind of white again! So very much looking forwards to that :D

My horse is competing at the Sunshine Tour with my sharer in SJ and as I'm at a loose end without a horse to look after I volunteered to go down too and write for a dressage judge 😄 I'm looking forward to it!

Nothing for me, M signed off for 4 weeks :(

Thankfully nothing serious but a minor strain means a bit of a break for us
Oh bums. The injury bench is getting crowded :(

well, my horsey weekend is done and dusted. Darcy was a model pupil (mostly) at arena hire. There was lots to look at, esp as the only arenas he has been in so far have no view (ours is surrounded by tall hedges and the only other place he's been is indoors :p) so there was a bit of giraffing to start with but then he settled down to some halfways decent work. Although he's getting physically fitter, mentally he tires quite fast so 35 mins was enough ;) but dead chuffed with his attitude to being somewhere new and that he found his zen head space quite quickly.

Sorry to hear about all the broken ponies :o I spent last Saturday holding ponies for the vets, rescuing escaped ponies from fields, and driving one up to Rossdales - though fortunately (for me) none of them were mine (and I'd very much like to keep it that way if the fates could allow it). Unfortunately one of them is the horse I'd had casual plans to hunter trial in a pair with this Sunday, who isn't up for it now, so I have no plans. It's too hard to be worth taking Dae alone and doing a bigger class.

So just hacking, schooling and shooting in the field and stuff here for me. Which is fine - it's been an expensive week with rug cleaning, winter supplies, hay and stuff!

I hope all the broken ponies are on the mend soon. My pony is ok, but I am broken, mentally and physically! I bought myself an old wreck of a Rice trailer after I had to write my other one off so I booked this week off work to get it sorted. Yesterday I was so tired, fed up and utterly despondent that I went and laid on my bed to wait for a responsible adult to come and help me. When none appeared I limped back outside and carried on. I'm glad I did. Its very dirty and the boards need washing and painting, but I very nearly have a new floor in place! I'm sure a more able bodied person would have had it done in a couple of days which is a bit depressing, but I dont think I've done too badly considering! Once this is done, I need to put the ramp and door back on and then the rest of it is just cosmetic work and that can wait till another time. My plan for this weekend is to get into bed with my dogs and Netflix and just lay there like a cabbage!

As of tomorrow I'm home for a few months after 3 months of working away 🎉.
Saturday will be hacking, and then Sunday I'm going to (finally) pick up my dream car (LR 90) which also means I'll have a tow vehicle this winter so I can make the most of having time home before I bugger orf for another few months working away! Hopefully you will see lots of fun outing posts from me :).

Sorry to hear about all the broken ponies, I should be grateful as mine is sound but I am a bit grumpy about my lack of plans.

It was always going to be a quiet weekend as the OH need our truck for work but it was saved as I arranged to have Friday off work to view a horse with my sister which was exciting. Unfortunately that has fallen through which is really disappointing. Normally a random friday off work I could fill by going to a clear round but, no truck 😔

So a weekend of hacking for me.

Annoyingly lots of things clashing in the next few weeks. So much I want to do.....

Well Vancouver has decided that as it's September it had better get on with the raining  we had a long dry summer so I shouldn't complain too much. But I was hoping for it to hold off a little bit!

I am back teaching therapeutic riding on Saturday and looking forward to seeing the kids, I have all kinds of fun lesson plans I want to use this session! Riding lesson Sunday and I am hoping it will stop raining long enough to be outside, but we'll see. The barn is also doing a Dressage show (I am not participating, no one needs to see me wander around as I figure out my left and right :p) but offered to scribe in the afternoon.

Getting a new tyre on the horsebox tomorrow so might try and get out Sunday, think there must be a local to show to do a bit of jumping somewhere! I'm a bit limited because I haven't given Buzz a booster vaccination and some places are still at 6 months vaccinations so I have to pick wisely where I go. The jab means he's off colour for a week (plus the cost at he moment, too many things that need money spending on!) so i'm a bit reluctant to get one just so I can compete. I haven't ridden all week due to various reasons so will probably hack later.
Good luck everyone else and sorry to hear about the broken ponies.

I've made the same decision for Jenny as she also reacts badly to them. Spoke to vet when he came to give Amber her 6 monthly jab and he reassured me her protection on 12 monthly jabs was fine so I am not sure if/when the advice will change we can all go back to annual jabs. I do hope so!

I'm old, so I remember a bad outbreak of flu in 1989 in NI. Most people I know gave their horses an extra 6 monthly booster that year, and then went back to yearly after that.

Its a pity in a way that the like of BD are making it permanent..

No plans for me this weekend, though looks like it will go the same way as the rest of the week with lots of extra visits to the ponies. Rog had a tooth out on Wednesday and he's been a bit down since then. Wouldn't eat anything yesterday morning and very quiet so vet back out. She didn't feel anything was jumping out so we've upped his danilon and he's a bit brighter. Unfortunately he's figured out where we were hiding it so we're having to syringe it making us the worst people in the world! You just worry that at bit more with him being 30.

Will also be spending the whole weekend refreshing the results page for the World Pairs driving in Germany. The couple Gill used to work for have horses competing in it for Australia so fingers firmly crossed!

Hope everyone's poorly ponies are feeling a bit better.
