Sorry about the title, couldn't resist. ;)

Emboldened by the success of my names thread, I'm trying again. :) It's even sort of competition related.

So, everyone who is schooling today, the first really cold day across the whole country, what are you wearing to ride in?

I've gone thermal top and turtleneck - both from Canada ;) - light fleece, heavy fleece, windproof jacket, jeans, thermal wool socks - also Canadian - Pro Chaps for riding/over pants for teaching, bobble hat, Woof gloves, which I'm very pleased with and that's saying a lot as I have glove issues.

These threads seem very unlike you somehow , but I'll play anyway :).

When I rode earlier I wore a long sleeved stretchy Boden T-shirt (have loads and wear one every day!), polo shirt, thin fitted fleece bodywarmer and Paul Carberry blouson. Thickish Schumacher breeches, calf length socks, short Ariat boots and half chaps. Mark Todd leather gloves. I might be doing something wrong but I'm inevitably too hot riding and had to take the jacket off!

Right..now, I have on my shortish fleece lined leather boots by K*ty [£44.00], black ski underwear and a pink hoodie from George [£7.00], I will pop on a jacket and a Tipperary Driving Helmet to ride out, plus blue fleece riding gloves [£2.00]

It was pretty cold yesterday, so I got fully dressed and drove up to yard, forgot I was "kitted up" and got some comments when i dropped in to the local garden centre, I kinda had a thought...........
well I had a red balaclava, ski glasses [driving in the sun], rather muddy smeared blouson, brown leather gloves, brand spanking new [loud] brown check breeches [brown fleecy boots.
Still trying to find Sleigh bells which ring btw.

Currently a harassed expression but will be thermal base layers, musto snugs, a jumper and an ROR jacket as fortunately have a lot of those (thanks to horsey winning them). My half chaps fell to bits so currently riding in an old pair of leather boots which are too manky to compete in so rather than buy new chaps will use them til these too fall to bits.

Me too.. I rode in a hoodie and thickish breeches (cotton pimple gloves, ariat boots and chaps plus hat) yesterday and was warm enough after I'd ridden for about 5 mins. I haven't ridden yet but am sure I'll just chuck on a gillet this afternoon (and prob take it off after a few minutes).

OK, whoever has stolen the real Tarrsteps and replaced her with a pink and fluffy version, will they please return her immediately. This is getting a little disconcerting.....

Anyhoo, as it's Christmas, I'll play along.....

I hacked 2 out this morning and I wore an M&S thermal vest, a Musto Innovation base layer and a normal jumper, Townend 'Imp' breeches (fab - windproof, waterproof and a fleecy lining), 2 pairs of socks, Mark Todd fur-lined long boots, a duck-down jacket, scarf and Mountain Horse thermal gloves.

Toasty warm :D

Hmm as well as the normal thermal underwear, thick breeches, fleece I am also sporting a snood under a very fetching fleece hood with attached scarf and when walking a rather becoming duvet full length coat.

Yes I did raise a lot of giggles at the yard yesterday. Less so in sainsburys!!!

IF i could ride (frozen arena/roads :() I normally wear slightly heavier material jods, normal chaps/boot, ski socks, t-shirt, hoodie and winter coat. Gloves and hat ;)

If was hacking would wear a buff :)

Oh help... I'm heading back to the UK on Saturday and will be riding. This thread is seriously scaring me! I've clearly become a complete wuss after just 5 months in warmer climes...

Leggings- jeans- ornellis-thermal socks chameau wellies( too cold for jod boots) merino wool base layer- fleece- down musto coat - can't find my gloves:( buff on my head over my ears under riding hat.
Will have to take off coat soon though!!

Too icy to ride :(

I've done pony this morning in new grey check jods, thin vest top with fleece base layer type top over it, long socks under normal socks, Dublin river boots. Topped off with jack wills duck down gilet, rockel gloves & my musto headband :)

Omg I'd freeze wearing what you lot wear!!!

I've got s thermal base layer, polo shirt (tucked in!!) 3 hoodies, gilet, coat, hat and neckwarmer thing. Plus thermal bottoms, jods and 2 pairs of socks!!! All topped off with a thinsulate hat.

When I ride, I shed about 4 layers but get very cold on the yard otherwise

Brace yourself!!!!

I can't ride just now, but when I can, I wear dublin breeches, rambo overtrousers, Mucky boots (jodhpur boots style), half chaps.
t-shirt, fleece jumper, waistcoat or thin waterproof/windproof jacket under waistcoat if schooling or if hacking a flourescent waterproof jacket. Sealskin gloves.

I also have ear muffs that attached to my riding hat - hate my ears getting cold!

I also have a mark todd exercise sheet for the hoss - fleecy but not that waterproof. Think the hoss likes it though :)

Well I apparently got a little too excited about trotting out my Canadian winter dressing skills and started gently poaching about five minutes after I got on. :)

No worries Gb and mm, normal TS service will be resumed shortly, no doubt. :)

This morning to work Big Fuzzy between 8.15 & 9.15, one was wearing:
Cheapy roll neck top, with a millets zip-neck fleece over - topped with a Mountain horse fleece lined (Lawrence?) jacket.
Lower level: Cheapy local tack shop pull-on jodhs, 1 pair med weight socks, Ariat Brossard boots & half chaps.
Capped off with crash hat & thinsulate riding gloves.

Was warm - bit too much when doing a few mins of trotting without pedals to improve my tummy muscles :o

We're made of hardier stuff here :D I've spent all day so far on the yard wearing my jeans, thin socks and Mountain Horse yard boots, long sleeved t shirt, fleece and Ariat blouson jacket. Admittedly my backside was a bit cold but other than that everything still seems to be working!

This......Are you ok? It feels a little like when I went to Olympia on Wed and had shopper's block and could not buy anything

Anyway I am lucky as our indoor, albeit not heated, is actually very warm - so I rode in my normal breeches (can't stand heavy winter breeches!), only concession to the cold outside is that I ride with a body warmer.

I had a flatwork lesson at 10 this morning- wore a tshirt and a thin fleecy-lined jumper, gloves, denim jods with a suede seat, ariat bromonts- insulated. I get very hot riding lol :) Only about 10 meters of the arena was frozen so I was lucky!

Im just back from a lesson and just thawing out! But i rode in Pikeur full seat breeches, long sleeved t shirt, Musto hoody, Joules bodywarmer, Joules scarf, thick Toggi socks and a pair of Ariat Grasemeres. When i had finished i put on some Musto over trousers and a 3/4 Musto jacket, and a wooly hat!! I feel the cold and dont care if i look like a michelin woman!!!! ;)

Funny I was working outside this morning wearing a campri base layer, polo t shirt and m& s cheap synthetic jumper. Even ended up shedding the jumper for a bit as got too hot! Only had one pair of knee high socks and aigle Welles on and my feet were Icey though! From Tuesday until yesterday I was freezing and had a zip up fleece, gilet and regatta jacket on top of today's wear. Obviously wasnt working hard enough!

In the cold, I just put my skiing base layers on under everything, my normal jods, thermal socks, 2 jumpers and my fleecy snood. Then my big warm dirty stinky horse coat over the top which I normally take off when schooling.

I'm going to get some of the seal skin gloves soon, can't wait :D.

I can't abide the cold but I'm always cold. Need to move to a warm country! ;)

luckily (or not!) I have cholinergic urticaria (heat induced hives basically). Means at max I wear a polo shirt, light fleece and gilet to ride in otherwise I get really uncomfortable. I have been known to ride in the snow in just a t shirt

I haven't been to the yard today but have been to the supermarket - I have on skinny jeans, black vest top, and black/grey thin jumper

Thermal socks, Tyne Muck Boots, Harry Hall Thermal Johds (legs are cold though and feet roasting )

Ariat long sleeved top, sleeveless t-shirt and hoodie and a Toggi coat.

Cheap pair of pimple palm gloves with ahole in as I've shrumk my lovely Mark Todd thermal ones in the wash :( so my hands are freezing too.

Today I just rode in jeans, Dubarrys (which I try not to do coz it ruins them but they're warm!), a fleece and jacket on top. Have to say that my legs were numb by the end of it though (and that was riding indoors but it was -2 outside).

Title did make me wonder if you were needing a bit of company :p

I was a walking advert for british manufacturing today - with gorringe cord breeches (cos they are warmest i have), henry hunt hoody, lavenham jacket and cool horse socks. Oh and my PROtector hat was made in england too. In fact only the horse was made abroad!!

Did ride indoors tho - mostly cos of hail and rain every 10 mins!

Whilst with the horses, if riding, it would: thick breeches, ski socks, MH boots, half chaps; top half - t-shirt (long enough to tuck in), rollneck

Jeans and thermal leggings, ariat grasmeres on my feet, x3 pairs of socks incl long ones. Thermal vest, long sleeved top, hoodie, then one of my many winter coats! Today it was an ariat blouson, v toasty. then i wear a headband/earwarmer under my hat. also I wear a pair of general warm gloves under my roeckl ones to ride in if it's really cold.
