If you’re quite petite it’s worth having a look at children’s sizes as they’re a lot cheaper (no VAT). My daughter has a lovely lightweight Pikeur which was much less than the adult equivalent

BD I’m a bit lazy and hardly wear a stock ? I didn’t at all for some unaff SJ over winter. I’ve got a CT jacket for BD now and it fits amazing. It feels quite heavy but it’s actually lighter weight than my Animo was.

I looooove my softshell navy Pikeur jacket. It’s so much comfier and cooler!

Last time I competed BD you had to wear white gloves but that was a couple of years ago.

I have a super stretchy lightweight stock shirt with a Velcro silk stock which is brilliant and looks much smarter than when I tried to tie my own…highly recommend!
I love my Pikeur jacket too!!

The genius thing that I'm now using is a bib stock - from Buckover Equi-Bibs (https://www.facebook.com/Buckoverequibibs) - just a velcro attachment that takes less than 1 second to put on. I use it for BE, BD and BS and the best thing is is that you only even need a t-shirt underneath - so I don't actually need a show shirt. I do sometimes use a showshirt with stand up collar underneath it - but it isn't neccessary to do so.

Pic below is our hot weather kit - this was in 27 degrees on Sunday and wasn't overwhelmed with heat. Aubrion pull on riding tights are super super thin and stretchy - incredibly comfy, but still have belt loops, as I can't do without a belt. Buckover equi bib over a thin T-shirt, Pikeur stretchy washable jacket. I'm in a kids age 16 jacket, which is suprisingly alright on a 5'10 size 10 and is a lot cheaper. The mesh jackets are also nice, but couldn't find any that were long enough in the arms for me.

Also love my gatehouse ventilated hat - but think you said you're already sorted on hats.

For horse stuff - neckstrap is allowed BD, BS and BE. It is only FEI that have ruled against unattached neck straps.

Boot rules only apply to hind boots. Haven't seen many of those hook and loop tendon boots lately, think they're pretty outdated. I've got a pair of E-Up ones which are just velcro straps across, and one velcro strap down over them to secure. That's pretty minimal and quick. These would be a cheap equivalent version - https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/tendo...VGobVCh0pFwlZEAQYBSABEgI6l_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds.

I bought one of the super lightweight mesh show jackets yesterday afternoon, and wore it for 2 dressage tests and a SJ round this morning. What a joy, I think it's one of my best ever horsy purchases - highly recommend!
I bought one for a show a few weeks ago. Love it. Even better the only one that fitted me was the cheapest, a Dublin and it was in the sale. Most juckets are too long in the body for me and if they fit my waist, the shoulders stick up or they are too big but will sit on my shoulders. I tried children's but need age 13 for length but they looked to tight in the body. Many people wear the shorter style jackets especially for SJ but I don't like them

Bib stocks are a game changer!

I think they must have gone out of fashion for a little while, as I used to always wear one BS as a teenager over 20yrs ago.
Loved it as in hot weather could just wear a vest top, or any other comfy t-shirt.
Have always used pre-tied stocks that velcro on. Never tied a stock in my life!

I like the look of the jacket that scats is wearing (and it suits her very well). It's a nice length, not 'bumfreezer' style.

What brand is this, please?

Sorry, I missed this. It’s a Dublin Hanna Mesh jacket. Very light and comfortable. I hate feeling hot and restricted in a jacket so this is perfect.
Think I paid about £75.

I love those buck over bibs. I have 3. Smart, comfortable, really easy and quick. I wear an ordinary t shirt underneath, navy so it blends with my navy jacket. She used to be at Olympia but haven’t seen her there the last 2 times I went.

I never thought about buying a larger childs jacket! Thanks for this little tip! Off to do some googling...

I love my Spooks show jackets, even though they aren't mesh, they are lightweight and when I competed in SA, were amazing in the heat, but it's a different heat in the UK I find and I seem to get hotter.

What does everyone think of the current trend to move away from white breeches to grey? I personally love a white breech, but the washing...
