Thanks for all the support you've all given me. It's fairly inconclusive I'm afraid
The vet was with us for hours. They put a scope up his nose and we have ruled out guttural pouch etc as it seems the bleeding is actually coming from his nose on both sides and not higher up which is what was more likely.
He then had a look in his bladder. It is incredibly inflammed but, again the bleeding seems to becoming from the bladder/urinary tract so is seemingly unconnected to the nose bleeding. He also has an unrelated abcess in his foot. The vet is worried and a bit stumped.
There are now a few options:
1) a blood or autoimmune disorder
2) organ failure
3) kidney disease
These should show up on the blood tests. I am just waiting for a call from the vet with the results.
If the blood tests are inconclusive there is a small chance he is just mega run-down and the problems are unconnected. In which case we are going to hit him with the strongest antibiotics available. If this doesn't work there is little they can do but monitor him.
It all feels very frustrating since we still don't know what's up with him but while he is still comfortable I don't have to make any decisions.
For those who thought the vet should have come last night, they could not bring the diagnostic equipment last night so they wouldn't have been able to do anything. He was bright and eating and drinking last night so they advised to wait until today as he was already on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. I understand your opinion since I was on the phone to the vet for an hour last night but we pay them to advise us in such situations and I followed their advice.
I am going to have a bath to warm up and then head back up to see him.
Thanks so much for all the kind words and support
