More lameness woes - what does this sound like

As others have said it could anything (if only they could talk) and its quite shocking your original vet didn't pick up the lameness!

Um have her feet been checked just thinking aloud maybe lami? This can occur in any or all feet and if only LGL won't necessarily cause the usual or common sings for want of a better word/description.

Maybe check her pulses?

It's typical time for lami. Our fields here look completely bare but horses aren't interested with hay and judging by what I'm picking up while poo picking they are getting plenty of rich grass!

Hope you get to the bottom of it ?

Might have missed it in the replies but is she insured? I’ve had two go to gait analysis on referral and it has been very useful in providing extra data for the vets view. Not cheap though !

If it were the shoulder,
I wish :'(

When I think about all of her oddities it does add up there could be something going on behind. She is very reluctant to canter properly. Instead, she loads the forelegs massively. I had always put it down to her not having great conformation and also being welsh and slow to mature. Likewise, when cantering she can be seen to bunny hop with her back end (not all the time).

Cant do multiple quotes, but she is insured.

Thanks everyone for their views! Really hoping it's not something very serious. Although, despite her being a project to buy and sell (oops), I absolutely adore her and she will have a home with me as a pet regardless for as long as I can keep her field sound.

The canter problems are very significant in this and would point me back to the suspensories, hocks or sacroiliac. Great that she is insured, get going on the diagnostics- I don’t think she will be hard to diagnose, her lameness is plenty bad enough to respond to nerve blocks

The saga continues. Not lame enough to block as only intermittent on vet seeing her yesterday. To me she looked to be moving better behind but not right. Still looked weird in front to me. Vet agrees she's sore all through the back and pelvis.

Farrier tonight and put fronts on as was advised to keep working her in hand to break her more or build fitness.

Farrier reckons something in hocks or higher and was lame on one hind trotting up first time, and other the next...

Did notice a lump on her short pastern at side on her (to me) dodgy foreleg. So poss knocked it, or something like ringbone ?‍♀️

Starting 2 weeks intense walk work with some painkillers to help her through. Then off them and reassess and most likely a trip to liphook.

For a 6yr old you'd hope there wouldn't be too many problems ?

Any update since? I am going through a very similar situation at the moment with my horse. Got his whole back and neck x-rayed and vet determined it could be his sacroiliac which he treated. After 4 weeks of slowly coming back to work, he is lame again.

Can't quite remember the next steps exactly! But she didn't go to liphook, vet was happy with her progress and we carried on building up her strength. Seems every time she has some time off, she goes abit backwards and not quite right. Have to keep her in pretty regular work to have her feeling her best.

Sorry you're going through something similar, it's horrible :(
