More lockdown weekend plans?

That's so worrying Scats. Hopefully there will be some financial support for your business to keep it afloat ready for normal life again. Xx

Riding out around the fields mostly. The sheep have moved onto the far field so we’ve got our fields back. I felt really miserable this last couple of days. It’s mostly because I’m worried for my new business. I had been open for just 6 weeks when this all happened and I’m so worried that all the hard work I put in was all for nothing. I feel like I’ll be starting again.
.

Really sorry to hear that scats, not much help out there for people in your situation

I'm using my weekend downtime to properly level my school (by hand) the horses were turned out on it a lot of winter and have dug holes in some parts leaving little mounds and scattered the rubber surface by galloping and hand break turns. My arena is also on a bit of a slope so the surface all runs down the slope when its windy etc.

The result has left me with large areas with very little surface and some areas way to deep. I've done about 2/3 so far and the last 1/3 is nowhere near as bad anyway. It's already much nicer to ride on and I'm sure M is feeling the benefit.

Jeepers wheels, just pulling the edges of mine in by hand is hard going!

Did the collective exercises on Arty this morning, and the gave pebbles a little jump. She's such a cool pony, and she's maxed out my little training wings without really putting any effort in

Lovely pic!

Needs must on the arena levelling, I literally just do a slither at a time, pick two fence posts and do the entire width of the arena between those too posts - I've been at it a little bit every few days and it's not so bad like that

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing okay! I've spent yesterday and today redecorating what was a very cluttered and UGLY alcove in my room. The wall used to be orange... I'll say no more and just post a pic! Though I think it has turned into somewhat of a shrine to Chilli :p

Other than that we've just been ticking over... hacking out and doing some schooling

KEK you need our hills ??

Managed to go for my ride ? early taste of winter with icy winds and it was about 12C. Pony was good as usual though! Lots of people out and about surprisingly. Seems like we’ll be sharing our hills with the local population ?View attachment 43549
Yes, please send them over, and some rain and greenness too, Thank you! What a beautiful spot for a hack!
My husband managed to slow his horse down a bit so we could ride side by side round the street which was nice. Then cantered up our paddock x 4 .. 1st time bucking/or flying change i guess, went up anyway LOL but then settled down and felt quite nice!

No riding for us today, it's very windy with gusts 45+ mph - even M can take offence of those wind speeds! One side of my arena has a high hedge all the way along it and there were a few creaks and squeaks coming from it earlier on so he gets a day off today!

Walked rehab mare around the village in hand giving socially distant hellos at the dog walkers.

Very pleased with her lack of reaction to the speeding men in lycra

Then I took the rasp to the big boy's feet. 30 seconds in and I was dripping!

I saw my ponies! Bobbie is looking surprisingly trim, mainly due to her being a pain in the bum for the YM, so she has been doing lots of canter work on the lunge. William is in disgrace as he has taken to walking through fencing. Just casually strolling through. He also took the main gate off its hinges! Hes in pony prison with Bobbie while a new energiser is sourced. Its doing him the world of good as Bobbie is firm but fair with him, whereas he's been out with 2 youngsters on their own while the nanny has been on box rest and clearly they have been running wild.

I do feel truly blessed to have 2 pleasant nice ponies in my life, even is they are complete morons when I'm not around though!

The wind is wild! I decided to go ahead and ride so I could record my online dressage. It worked well actually, the smaller arena is quite well sheltered with hedges/a static caravan on one side, and hedges on the other. YO was power washing a fence at the other side of the arena, the good thing is the wind drowned out the sound so horse didn't notice ?

It's very informal so proper dress not required, but his mane is quite long so I put it in a running plait thing to make sure we were neat & tidy!

As you can see, he was looking very enthusiastic about being ridden.

And just for fun, his post-plait curls ? he looks seriously unimpressed lol.

We did 'useful' stuff.
Cleaned tack/feed room out. 40ft shipping container I've managed to fill with 'stuff' I can never find when I need it.

Scrapped glue off lorry ready to paint it.

OH managed to get our little ride on mower/tractor started - still bits to do on it but it runs!!

I've started raking the bare patches in the field ready to re seed - it's back/arm breaking!

OH built some planters for my polytunnel.

Erected polytunnel.

Covered myself in bay and black hair. Fleece was not the best choice of material for this task.

Certainly cracking on through all these job I didn't really know needed doing ? sounds like every one enjoyed to sunshine too.

Pretty chuffed with the stables. Was absolutely knackered yesterday as did them all on my own . Just got the inside of the tack room to do now .
Can now bring the neddies back in for some TLC , even though they have plenty of hay in the field they do seem to be missing ‘human time ‘

Glad to see in not the only one getting the diy bug ?

Yay! Started teaching my youngster to load today. She was fabulous after a bit of a 'why should I ?' start lol. Once she was walking on to my trailer without hesitation, standing on the trailer perfectly relaxed and quiet and walking off very politely we progressed to doors closed and she was totally cool with that. We left it there today so she could process all of that!! Bless her, I just love her attitude :D:D

I had a weekend of not riding!!!

Rooni was a good boy last week:

Fig was a complete MONKEY on Saturday, about got my head boxed off... Genuinely... If I was thinking about getting on him... I’d be worried!

He is however, looking fab and clearly feeling like his regular self again. I held off posting about him for a little while. He went very very very lame in the less affected foot and I thought ‘right, this is it then’ but thankfully ‘just’ two whopping abscesses!

A weekend of cleaning and organising for me which has filled a builders sack of rubbish and a few shopping bags with various things to donate when the world is calmer.

Today, Rooni has his jumping pants on. My godddddd I LOVE him. He’s soooo easy to jump. So much fun. He only stopped twice and that’s because I let him dribble into it like a total lemon.

The back bar on the spread is 1m10 and he didn’t even touch it so I am pleased as a pleased thing.

Schooling tomorrow. Can’t wait!
