more than a 'how much'... more of a 'i haven't got a clue'

hi all

this is going to be tricky with HHO's rules on how much posts... but i genuinely don't know how much to ask for Katie my lorry.

i said on here the other day i was going to have to sell her as i needed a 4x4 for work... and i have had a couple of people ask about her.

i've told them a price, but then looked on horsemart as was going to put an ad on, and lorries for the price i'm asking aren't as nice as mine... but then again, i am VERY biased...

obviously i want to make a fair amount of money for her (as it will have to buy me a trailer and half a 4x4)... but, at the same time, i can't stand the hassle of advertising/selling things (especially as my heart really isn't in it with her, as i am not convinced it's the right thing to do...).

so... HHO might take this down... but this is a genuine how much... so please don't report me (i've already been in trouble last month for using a word that started with F and ended with ECK)

here's the ad gumpf.

in the ad details it will say that she is k reg (1993?), and has only done 9k miles (been horse lorry from new).

oh, and that she's a renault, with 4litre perkins diesel engine.

here's the gumpf. i reckon i'll be breaking the HHO rules less if i don't put a price on, so instead i'd appreciate ideas of price - also, is the advert okay?

* no sensible offer refused * will consider a trailer as part ex*

2 horse/ 3 pony

Extremely sad sale of my beloved lorry (called Katie).

Ideal ladies box as compact, easy to drive and super easy ramp (even i can do it and i'm a wimp!)

7.5t (uprated from 5t so she has the size of a 5t but has brakes/suspension etc of a 7.5t). This means she can carry about 3tonnes of horse!

Always been a horsebox so exceptionally low mileage.
Solid floor, solid ramp with excellent springs which make it very easy to put up/down.

Lovely little living area, with gas hob, sink, table and bed area in the luton.

Walk through cab so you can get through to the horses in case of an emergency etc.

Horse area is rubber matted (not glued down so you can check floor underneath), and has 2 padded telescopic partitions that can be moved wherever you want them. so you can stall it however you like. 3 ponies will fit in, or 2 horses.

Handy little tack lockers externally on the side. There are 2 saddle racks on the lorry itself.

Battery isolator switch for security.

2 months plating, but only done about 500 miles since the last one - which she flew through.

Katie has never ever let us down. She's reliable, starts first time, every time. Even whilst covered in snow. She isn't the fastest lorry in the world, but will happyily chug along at a perfectly respectable speed.

She is the sort of lorry that makes you smile.

She is for sale as i have to get a 4x4 for my work, and it doesn't make sense to have a lorry and a 4x4. Also, my horse broke his leg 9 weeks ago, and so won't be up to proper competing until next year anyway... so, we have come to the sad decision to sell Katie. Even my completely non-sentimental husband is upset by this, as we never thought we'd find such a neat little reliable lorry.

We will consider offers, and also would consider having a trailer as part ex if you're upgrading to a lorry from a trailer.

i don't have any new photos (it's been raining all day...) but here's one of her in the winter, looking grubby. i will (of course) polish her up and take photos of inside and out...

price?
ad okay?

choccy biccies for you all xxx

No idea on price sorry but i shouldnt think you would have too much trouble selling her , shes a nice little box and perfect for ladies. Hope you get enough for her

Clippy - we had a lorry and have now gone back to trailer/4x4 and it has saved us a heap of money. As you probably won't be out and about with Raff until next year I wouldn't stress about a trailer yet. Get the 4x4 sorted and you can do the trailer later - we have hired one for this summer season and will get first refual on the winter season - it is a brand new Ifor 506 - couldn't be more pleased!:D:D:D

Do I get choccie biccies??:confused::D:D:D

my friend is selling her lorry, only 3.5tonne for £5500 so would not go for any less than that, she is beautiful!!!

Very nice little box :D No idea on price though sorry :(

Though I shall come to see you in my AWESOME Jeep (Chad-Cherokee) and then you will be SO excited thinking you could have a Jeep that the loss of Katie will not be so bad....:D

friend has an identical E reg one for sale for £3500 if that helps?

oh bums, i think i may have underpriced her... oops. at least i haven't officially advertised her yet. poor katie. :(

thank you all for your lovely, supportive comments... and yes JoG, come visit me in your Jeep so i can get excited about the 4x4.

Slinky - it's true, i don't need a trailer until we start getting out and about more. we're still over the moon he's allowed in a field... i don't think he'll be in any condition for a show/clinic for a good few months. he's wasted awaaaaayyyy.....poor raffy!

xxxp.s. sorry for the delay in my thanks... my daughter is poorly... and reeeefusing to sleep tonight :(

Is she a Renault Dodge? Not knocking them - I have one...... and I love her too!

Try and find out the payload and put it in the advert too - so many small lorries out there can't carry much more than one horse and, if she really can carry 3 ponies/2 horses, kit and people legally as a 7.5t, then she is probably worth advertising for £5000 with a view to accepting £4500. And I'd take the phrase 'no sensible offer refused' out of your ad - it sounds desparate and you will get silly offers. Saying pex for trailer is ok though :).

yup, she's a renault, and i think dodge...

i'll look on her little bit of paper thing. i think she weighed about 4.5t at last plating, meaning she has 3t payload. i worked that out to be more than enough for 2horses/3ponies and stuff.

will take desperate line out.

thank you for your help! xx
