Oh jeez, it's that time again!

What are we all up to?

Relatively quiet one here, time to regroup and get ready for the next few weeks which will be very busy :D

Salty has been busy Doing Learning this week so physio tomorrow then some hacking over the weekend

Got some normal-humanning to to on Saturday as going to a wedding
I'm off to Beacons area festival to support a friend on Sunday

Kira has a lesson on Tuesday :)

Have fun all!

Is it that time already?!
Only just recovered from a hot Gatcombe, those hills nearly killed me!!

I’m rapidly loosing enthusiasm for my weekend plans. In my infinite wisdom I planned to do a hunter showing class on the giant. I hate showing but thought it might look good on his CV. But he looks like a fit sportshorse so is going to stick out like a sore thumb!!

Gave me a cracking gallop session this morning so hopeful of a good time at his next event on Wednesday.

We're back on board! Box rest has officially been declared a thing of the past and had the go ahead from the vet to start bringing D back into work, so physio tonight, gentle plod Sunday (hopefully!) and can't bloody wait!

Off to spectate at Hartpury on Saturday, very excited as I LOVE watching people better than me ride, great motivation!

Where's the weekly Kira photo? :p
You'll be roughly in my area if you fancy having a go on M, bit of a detour off the M4 to the yard tho!

Good luck with the giant IHW, you bought a cracker there :).
Have fun and good luck to scats and Denzel too!

I am mostly going to be trying to not fall off again...I might do some groundwork instead :p. I'm currently in the process of dyeing my white crash-pad breeches (Dainese ones from a few years ago) with super-sticky seat to black so that I can actually wear them to ride regularly without looking like an idiot. Though I suspect the dye is only going to 'take' in patches so it could be an interesting look!

Lol! haven't taken any since Tuesday :eek3: :eek3:

here's one from the archives, a fortnight ago :p the goofy grin cracks me up

It is the local agricultural show this weekend so I will be taking 2 Shetlands along. Lunar Fire for the M&M class and a 23 strong Shetland yeld mare class ... and Flint for the gelding and lead rein classes.

I will also be entering eggs in the egg class along with blackcurrants, blackberries and Gooseberries in the fruit section!

Hubby and I are off for a dirty weekend in Cheltenham, without the kids. Seriously cant wait .

Hope everyone has fun this weekend ,good luck !

Eventing! I haven’t evented since June, pony last evented in July but had a holiday whilst ground so hard. We are off to Aston le walls for the unaff, hopeful ground as they are running a BE over three days this week and usually water. If not we will do the dressage and SJ on a surface and withdraw.

Pony has been absolutely bonkers the last week, is being fed a handful of chaff in terms of hard feed but is overflowing with energy and only just managing to contain it (definitely answered my thoughts about whether to take him on hound exercise/fun rides!) , so I think our dressage may be interesting. We have a dressage lesson with Matt hicks tomorrow and I’m hoping we won’t embarrass ourselves too much.

I can join in!!! Not particularly exciting, but I am going to a pole clinic on Saturday. My mare had an operation on her ddft in November and this is our first outing. Just going to do poles in walk and trot. Going with 2 from my yard so at least if she is an idiot I don't have to worry about strangers ;)

Phew :) possibly inhand showing Sunday in an attempt to get out. Have a potential new one being vetted on Monday so that’s the main excitement :)

Off to Borde Hill UA on Saturday! Have very civilised times, 11.45am dressage and both jumping phases closely follow. First one since Oct last year!

Can I join?! I've just started getting into going out and about with my newish horse (bought him last year but he spent all summer on box rest!) Then I bought a little box in March so I've been out quite a bit and No one tends to ask what I'm doing ha Ha 😁
I'm talking him to the beach on Sunday, he's never been!

We have a clinic this weekend, I had a lesson last night that was so great, really productive and exactly what I needed. Baby Henry has a flat lesson on Saturday and both the horses have jumping lessons on Sunday. Part of the clinic includes a presentation of off the track horses, so I am going to that on Saturday too. I can't wait. The coach is just so informative, easy to speak to and really gets the ideas across well. Plus encouraging.

Added bonus, it's not meant to rain! we got drenched last night, and it was freezing cold.

I hope everyone else has a great weekend!

Going to Field Farm in Mumby but just for the day rather than staying. It looks like the weather's not going to be too hot which is good as it's about 2 hours travelling!

I love a beach ride! Relieved it’s not going to be so hot for travelling and the ground hopefully will start to ease with some rain.

I was gonna do a small sj thingy but no horsey friends to accompany me and I don’t really feel ready. Keeping up the sj practice though and have booked a lesson over in Surrey with an ins who works on confidence, so we’ll see!

Have fun everyone!
I'm planning a last long training session before our big ride next Friday. Will be aiming for about 20 miles at a good speed which should be fun. Will hopefully give the big mare another pop as she has dropped into old habits of being a bit halting over the fence although she always goes. She gets very green if left and I'm aiming her at some BS over the winter so need to remind her of the job!

So elegant :D.
Dyeing breeches was a semi-success; they started white, I used black dye, and they've turned out brown :confused3: :confused3: :confused3: . They're a cotton mix with something stretchy - the cotton has taken the black but the stretchy stuff has gone neon orange (I have no idea why) so they look brown because of the close weave.

I admire your ingenuity haha but it sounds like not entirely successful?!

It wasn't quite the outcome I was hoping for :p.

You can sort of see the orange and black weave:

I'll still wear them but I was hoping for normal black. I've got another pair and a box of navy dye I'm eyeing up but am very concerned about what colour they'll go!

First Prelim with baby horse. Canter on one rein is still a bit iffy but it's only a local event so giving it a go.

Jumping lesson with Amber. First for a while - not sure why but just been busy and have been pootling more than doing anything focused. Jumping-Jenny-Wren had a jumping lesson yesterday. Wow she's fast! Need to get her out competing soon.
Ginny is out of action and Max is dressage-ing with his sales livery person and he'll be going up for sale after they compete him, hopefully with a good test sheet to show him off. He has not put a hoof wrong since being there - has been hacked out alone and in company and has been schooling and jump schooling with no issues. I am beginning to doubt my decision to sell as he is awesome but too late now. We can't have 4!! And I always knew he was a good pony. Just not right for Izzy....

Obstacles training day tomorrow morning, I think its a combination of Le Trec and working equitation obstacles. Then swap over trailers tomorrow afternoon so I get me nice new to me EquiTrek.
Then on Sunday heading off to get my saddle thoroughly checked over after a slight whoops moment on Tuesday night when I'd failed to do the cinch up fully before lunging. I think its OK but if not it will be expensive!

Milliepops is that a MIO fly mask in your photo? I'm still trying to find one for my horse as shes got a very wide but short head and had been looking a those, are they any good? Can you adjust the over the head part?

it's a rambo vamoose :) very old, nearly worn out but still clinging to life and I'll replace it with the same, I think they are excellent.
I do have one of the amigo ones on Salty which is fine but the Rambo one is well made and gives *loads* of space round the eyes.
Both are quite generously sized, only adjust under the jaw, the rambo one has 2 straps, amigo has 1 and they have both popped that one off occasionally as it's not so adjustable to the head.

I had a Lemieux mask but they both took it off immediately :D they're obviously horseware girls :D
