So my Freelander 2 is coming to the end of its life I fear, Im keen to get another 4x4 even though OH is being silly about it saying I should get a little car... yes so how would I tow the trailer? And how would I get out in the depths of winter when we live above the snow line in rural Scotland?
Anyway... so Id like to try and suggest some which are the most economical as possible (in fuel, tax etc.). It'll have to be second hand so cant be any brand new-out cars or anything massively fancy. Id like another Freelander 2 as it does tow my current horse well but I worry if I get a bigger horse in future it might struggle a little (it did struggle towing a 17.1hh I had at one point) so it is a little gutless. Although we can get a pick up truck through our business, they're not exactly practical for putting the dog in the boot and carrying (what will be) two children about so ideally not one of those unless they were really that much better money-wise to run...
Suggestions please?
