Anyone think their hay is the most expensive. I'll kick off - we are being charged £5.25 a bale in Essex
Next!

£2.00 per bale from one farmer, £3.00 from another - but they are big bales

. We are in Suffolk

i buy off our farmer and still same as last year as makes own - £35 for big bale ( 5 stringer) think equivalent to 17 small bales - nice hay too

£4.50 a bale from the merchants (excellent quality).

I then paid £2 a bale from a local farmer (got a job lot), and the ponies won't eat it! (if anyone in leics wants a few bales they can HAVE it!)

Next year I'm buying big bale... so if anyone knows anyone selling good quality big bale in leicestershire for a decent price do let me know so i can get my order in.... it's like gold dust here at the moment.

Gosh, you lot are suffering with some prices there!

Not a good time to say I get my big round bales free from a friend, then? Or I pay 15€ for a roundbale if I have to? Just told someone to poke his small bales because he wanted €1.50 each for them, they are great hay, but two years old and no one will by them for cattle, so they are only worth €1 a bale - he just thought he could fleece the foreigners.

We pay £4.50 for hay in Suffolk and can get the 25kg bags of haylage from a local supplier for £4.50 too....crazy!
Happytohack - where do you get your hay from??

CLT - is that from Eastwick lodge?

I went in there to pick a bale and nearly fell over when they charged me over a fiver!!

eeek I thought mine was bad!

At home I pay £1.50 for a small bale (nice hay), but at uni I pay £3....I thought it was a rip off but glad I don't pay as much as some people have to!
