Any advice on mounting issues?
My horse has uncharacteristically developed issues when mounting including rearing.
She was riding fine before.
Teeth, Back, Saddle all checked and happy. Wormer up to date.
At a complete loss on what to do next.

Yes, rearing is awfully drastic for a previously well behaved horse. Vet first seems like a good move. And can you work out when it first started happening? Is her behaviour always the same or does it change depending on where you try to get on (in the yard, in the school, from a block, from the ground etc). That would all be potentially helpful in working out what's bothering her. Tbh I probably wouldn't try to get back on until you'd had a vet out, if she's actually rearing up you could get hurt - do keep yourself safe

I would have second opinion on saddle fit / back if this is new.

There are some excellent back people and wonderful saddlers and there are less good ones.

Vet once over may well help pinpoint something.

Anything to suggest ulcers - these can be painful on mounting
Coming into season ?
Any unsoundness might make them reluctant to work and the rearing is saying - "I really don't want to" which is likely pain somewhere if it's new and nothing else has changed.

In your position I would be having my vet out to have a good look.
same. horses don't generally start doing things like that unless there's something wrong somewhere and if you are satisfied with teeth and saddle the vet is obvious next step.

Ulcers were one of the first things that came to my mind but she’s looking in good health she’s happy on the ground and once you actually get on. She also lives out and when she does have to stand in has access to hay/haylage the entire time.
Could ulcers still be the problem?
Thanks for your reply

I can't recall the details - google will find them but there is some evidence acid splashes more as you get on than when they are moving along.

But it could be 1 or 25 different things - it's just process of elimination, she doesn't sound like an typical ulcer candidate but they don't read the books !
