OOh where to start suddenly moving time is upon me!!

I have spent the last week at current yard moving stuff home (cant expect to dump everything at new place). So all that is left is horse,Rug, Grooming kit, feedbuckets and Trailer.

I have slowly dug out his banks and removed as much yuk bed as I can so there will be minimal tomorrow.

I have given up the battle to get him to eat hay instead of haylage as I dont want him stressed and starving so I am using a cement mixer (ok wheelbarrow and hands) to mix up a small amount of haylage with his hay damp the lot down to confuse him and stuff it in his haynet.

Made new bed up and yesterday dragged OH to yard to examine broken stable mirror at new yard. Its like mirror finish mdf really and atrociously put up by previous livery. YO husband said did we want him to take it down and was well impressed by OH dexterity with tape measure and screwdriver. Anyhow it is now removed and OH has recut redrilled and fixed back up properly with screws that have plastic cap thingys on them it looks well posh.

We dont actually need a mirror but it relects a lot of light from the roof light back into stable.

Was introduced to my turnout paddock and when we went back today I decided to walk the fenceline to doublecheck everything.

I was so excited at the bottom of my paddock is a fence and on the other side is a duck pond - I love ducks and if nothing else they will give big lump something to look at extra.

I noticed a bit of very baggy electric fencing where previous livery must have used bottom corner of paddock as a gateway. YO was not around today so I phoned and left a message mentioning it OH was going to look at it tomorrow.

Got a text message saying 'Thanks for letting me know fence fixed'.

So I texted back 'you're spoiling me' and the response I got was 'Thats what we are here for you ask and we do!!'

Very good luck for tomorrow and let us know how you both get on. It sounds like you have found a good yard owner (very rare) so hope his hospitality continues once a horse is installed!!

Sounds like a good move! I am sure it will all go really well for you!
We moved my daughter's mare at the end of Feb, I was so worried about so many things but it really has been the best decision we've made in a long while!

I can only repeat this as my wife moved to my yard last month and finally this is the first weekend she says she's really looking forward to riding her ponio with no stress, nobody looking down their noses at her etc etc.

Sounds like you're moving to a similar place. All relaxed, helpful and friendly - what more could you ask? Good luck and just enjoy it :)

Thank you all. I should sleep well as since my mums illness and all the associated hassle I have sleeping tablets to take. Its only very low dose and I am taking half that so I dont get zonked. OH says I still snore and keeps moving into spare room. Heigh ho.

Does anyone on here understand the aura of a place. I hope I dont sound too bonkers but I have looked at several livery yards all perfect but none of them rang that special bell. This place just feels right.

What I need next is a group of liveries to take me on a fluffy bunny slow quiet hack until my nervous nellie pants cease to be needed.

Only major issue I currently have is that my saddlers have failed to order my plastic shovel I wanted. Its a purple/lilac colour with a black handle and they have taken two weeks to not get it. I so wanted one and now I am just going to have the very boring metal shovel form the shed :(

Please think of me tomorrow I am getting to old yard at 8.15 so I may get a slot in indoor schoool where I can send him off for a play to burn some claories off.

Loading and leaving at about 10 am. Very supportive man siad just take all day dont rush anything with him and he is going to be around to support as this is the most important thing I have done since a) living with my man and b) ditching a full time job for an amazing new life which is turning into a rollercoaster ride and I am not good at them.

Its only a 10 to 15 minute trip.

Good luck with the move :D New yard sounds fabby!

It only seems like yesterday that you posted to say that you were moving........where does the time go!?!

I can tell you where it doesnt go. It doesnt spend time remembering to feed the catt - sorry Tiggy. It doesnt get spent buying bread and worst of all it forgets to plan meals!!

It does get spent digging out old bed and sorting through rugs and of course Daydreaming.

I want to post pics but will check as the view from my field is the whole place and they might object I can olnly ask or crop photos carefully if we remember camera.

You will recognise me upside down in a Duck pond with a grinning horse.

Must dash sleeping tablet kicking in.

No it doesn't sound mad thinking a yard has an aura. Where you put your horse has to "click" as you will be spending quite a long time down there - it's your second home. I think we're all the same here.

Hope everything went well and it wasn't too stressful.
