So... Not much happening to be honest! We've just had a busy weekend though so thought maybe a positive update was due :)

The two boys have been getting on well...

It was Vale View High Profile Thurs-Sun. Fig was there on the Friday for M69 and M73. He was fab; arena walk and warm up with not a single blip worth mentioning :) We had an encounter with a plastic bag on the loose but settled straight back into work once that terrifying beast was captured by PS...

M69 was interesting. Only by my own doing!!! I went wrong. TWICE. Argh!!! Still kicking myself!!!!! Otherwise, he was really good. I'm trying to keep it altogether and ask for a bit more now.

M73 no blips at all, walk better than usual and I successfully navigated walk piri's! Pushed for more in the med canters, which is deffo improving.

Both classes won around the 67% mark, quite a number of experienced horses and riders. So to land 1st in my section and 6th/9 with 64.4% (incl 2 x EOC) and 1st in my section and 5th/9 with 65.74% left Team Sparkle very happy indeed!

Fig very happy to be back out in the field...

A quick canter in the field on Saturday just to keep his brain ticking, and then back to Vale on Sunday for the ROR Champs.

Mr Excitable got rid of the spring in his toes in the field of course...

Busier and buzzier; lots of smiley faces and had a good natter with friends and strangers. Warmed up super duper, only one *eeeeeek* moment when someone else's horse had a norty hissy fit, but all kept nicely under control.

I couldn't have asked for any more of him in the test. We had one whoopsie, no one's fault. He dropped a toe whilst collecting after a med trot but recovered and carried on without even blinking.

Honestly, was so impressed with his attitude I didn't mind what the scoreboard showed. Had the inevitable anxious wait of course, and we landed in the lead! And held on! We ****** well WON!!!!! Well done Fig, following in big brothers footsteps <3

Got loads of goodies and my ROR rug is on the way :)

And then Mr Goof...

He has been continuing to learn how to act like a civilised member of society!

Collecting blingy booties...

Fig prefers to be a little more demanding...

Hasn't all been roses and puppy dog tails though! He's 100% in the stable, the wash box and to bring in. But last week, he thought it was great fun to start pulling away halfway up the field. Considering he has been corralled in and out of spaces and was a teensy bit feral when he arrived, it's only to be expected. But it isn't something we accept and not wishing to allow a naughty moment or two to become a bad habit, we ordered a be nice halter asap. He hit the end of it once and decided that we have super powers and are not to be messed with! Thus normal service has been resumed and baby pony is back to plodding to field at snail like speed.

He's learning about trimmers, leg washing, and has done a bit of in hand plodding round past the banners etc and PS has been standing on a box and leaning on him a bit... Generally he is not bovvered in the slightest :)

That's all in sparkle land for the moment. Off to snack on stars and sleep in beds made of fairy dust xxx

So... Not much happening to be honest! We've just had a busy weekend though so thought maybe a positive update was due :)

The two boys have been getting on well...

I wouldn't call ROR CHAMP 'not much'!!!!

Well done hugely to Fig, he sounds like he's just coming on in leaps and bounds (although GPS for Xmas for NMT? ;) ). And Goofy s so ridiculously sweet - PS you are just going to have a ball with him once he's up and going!!

Love your reports :) xx

Clever figgy pony!! You've done such an amazing job RoR champ!!! I can only dream that my boy ever gets half as good :) bless his socks!
Can't wait to see how goofy turns out too :)

I'm tearing myself out of The Club House just for this thread. I love this post.

Go Figgy! And <3 Goofy.

Right, I'm off back where I belong. In the land of the silly :p

My rider, (whom I groom for) was at VV ROR on a chestnut and came fourth. She came back in total amazement at how amazing Fig looks, - I roughly told her that I 'read' about your adventures! She congratulated you, and so do I. Sad I wasn't travelling groom, but being miles and miles away, I opted to stay at home and care for the others, both equine and human!!
Very well done again, and Go Goofy banners still flowing!

Awesome awesome awesome!!! Well done for the ROR champs. I nearly went to watch but went up North pony shopping instead (which was successful yeay)!!

I love Fig such a good boy, and goofy looks ace!!!

I think PS and the goof should do some in hand showing so that we can have some comp reports before he's backed :-)

Well done fig! Excellent results!

thank you everyone :)

i am ridiculously proud of my little sis and her little pocket rocket-they both held it together and gave it their all under immense pressure (all year long people have been telling us how he really should win it etc). They did a perfect job.

Not sure how i feel about the tweed and beige trousers malarky for in hand showing!!!! But depending on how he matures we might try and grade him next year so that would be a sort of comp report ish!!!!!!

once he's bitted and doing some in hand there will be matchy matchy in hand pics anyway lol!!!! He is very very sweet and obliging and i hope he remains as not bovvered once my ass hits the saddle!!!!!

So much to love about this thread. Actually, all of it. Bl00dy well done on the results and Goof, what a face, he's a heart melter isn't he, lol.

They are both looking fab xxx

Goooo FIGGY!

That is seriously amazing. Well done.

And I can't resist a horse that offers you his feed bucket.... even the ones that wack it off your face... I cannot wait to see what next year offers for Goof!

Huge congratulations!!! I can't see the photos at work but I've seen what you've put on FB and they are cracking!

Good to see all the hard work paying off.

Well done to Goofy too and his "good citizen" training. I'm wondering how you'll be able to bling up tweed! ha ha

Absolutely fantastic results, massive well done!! I can only imagine how proud you all are!

Goof is adorable and I love reading your reports :)

What a fab update . . . Fig is proving to be the superstar you always believed him to be . . . and Goofy is just, well, gorgeous! Onwards and upwards for Team Sparkle :).

P

So glad I saw this as I hardly ever come on here anymore (must be November!) - saw te photos on FB but wasn't sure you'd won, biggest congatulations, all the hard work is paying off! I have always felt that Fig had everything it takes, nice to see I was right ;) :D

Thank you for all your kind comments everyone :)

So nice to put a few faces to names on the day too!!!!

Still on cloud 9 today, to win on a stonking score of 70%+ is just amazing and I am unbelievably proud of him for keeping his cool on both days even when the jockey can't quite remember what we're meant to be doing.
