So... Not much happening to be honest! We've just had a busy weekend though so thought maybe a positive update was due
The two boys have been getting on well...
It was Vale View High Profile Thurs-Sun. Fig was there on the Friday for M69 and M73. He was fab; arena walk and warm up with not a single blip worth mentioning
We had an encounter with a plastic bag on the loose but settled straight back into work once that terrifying beast was captured by PS...
M69 was interesting. Only by my own doing!!! I went wrong. TWICE. Argh!!! Still kicking myself!!!!! Otherwise, he was really good. I'm trying to keep it altogether and ask for a bit more now.
M73 no blips at all, walk better than usual and I successfully navigated walk piri's! Pushed for more in the med canters, which is deffo improving.
Both classes won around the 67% mark, quite a number of experienced horses and riders. So to land 1st in my section and 6th/9 with 64.4% (incl 2 x EOC) and 1st in my section and 5th/9 with 65.74% left Team Sparkle very happy indeed!
Fig very happy to be back out in the field...
A quick canter in the field on Saturday just to keep his brain ticking, and then back to Vale on Sunday for the ROR Champs.
Mr Excitable got rid of the spring in his toes in the field of course...
Busier and buzzier; lots of smiley faces and had a good natter with friends and strangers. Warmed up super duper, only one *eeeeeek* moment when someone else's horse had a norty hissy fit, but all kept nicely under control.
I couldn't have asked for any more of him in the test. We had one whoopsie, no one's fault. He dropped a toe whilst collecting after a med trot but recovered and carried on without even blinking.
Honestly, was so impressed with his attitude I didn't mind what the scoreboard showed. Had the inevitable anxious wait of course, and we landed in the lead! And held on! We ****** well WON!!!!! Well done Fig, following in big brothers footsteps <3
Got loads of goodies and my ROR rug is on the way
And then Mr Goof...
He has been continuing to learn how to act like a civilised member of society!
Collecting blingy booties...
Being helpful...
Fig prefers to be a little more demanding...
Hasn't all been roses and puppy dog tails though! He's 100% in the stable, the wash box and to bring in. But last week, he thought it was great fun to start pulling away halfway up the field. Considering he has been corralled in and out of spaces and was a teensy bit feral when he arrived, it's only to be expected. But it isn't something we accept and not wishing to allow a naughty moment or two to become a bad habit, we ordered a be nice halter asap. He hit the end of it once and decided that we have super powers and are not to be messed with! Thus normal service has been resumed and baby pony is back to plodding to field at snail like speed.
He's learning about trimmers, leg washing, and has done a bit of in hand plodding round past the banners etc and PS has been standing on a box and leaning on him a bit... Generally he is not bovvered in the slightest
That's all in sparkle land for the moment. Off to snack on stars and sleep in beds made of fairy dust xxx
