Hello guys,

Someone posted something very similar a week a go if I recall, now this is quite embarrassing so you must promise not to laugh.

.....cups of tea down, and zip it.

Now does anyone else's horse, gelding should I say, get a little too...hmmm now how can I put this.... want a bit of how's ya farther with a human being?

stop laughing!

Because I was talking to Mr M the other day in the field, he was grazing, I bent down beside him and was giving his ears a scratch and just generally petting him as you do, then he got all ...well frisky, got behind me leaning with his head on my back, started neighing/grunting (in that way that stallions do when there sniffing mares)
shocked.gif
swishing his tail, of course I stood up quicker than I've ever moved in my life and pushed him away and told him get lost basically.

Then this morning, when I was fastening the front of his rug straps he was resting his head on my back, started being all dominant and he started grunting and getting all horney again and got his wot not out and waiving it about
shocked.gif
, now I know geldings get there bit out every now and again when relaxed but this was not the same thing!

Help, I feel rather un easy about this, specially twice in the space of 4 days, everyone on the yard seems to think its funny
blush.gif
...and of course the OH thinks well...dare i say (typical bloke
smirk.gif
) but he thinks its funny too, but it aint!

I know a lady that used to gently tap her stallions mans bits with her whip if he started getting excited and flashing them around in public. Maybe you could try that? She didn't belt it, just gave it a tap. I think other than that just be very firm (wrong choice of word?!) with him if it tries it again. Walk off and ignore him, and for a while treat him like a new horse, so not to over-familiar maybe?

Sorry if thats no help, but as said above, as you know he likes you!

Sorry it is funny, but on a helpful note - are you around your 'time of the month' the scent of the hormones given off by ladies at this time is similar to that of mares in season (or so I was told when working for a small local breeder - so I might be wrong) but I was told to avoid the stalions at that time. Also it could be a new perfume or shower gel that you are wearing!!!

It is funny - but also be careful!!

can't help i'm afraid, mine gets his bits out all the time but thats as far as it goes. You def need to try and contain it as i'm sure half a ton of horse trying to mount you would turn from a funny situation to a rather dangerous one and plus how would you try and explain that one to your vet/behaviourist? 'I can't ride my horse because he tries to hump me!' lol.

You do look veeery happy in your sig - now we know why - cos your horse luuuurves you..!
grin.gif

On a more sensible note, I would agree with being firm with him - if he starts, well, coming on to you, push him firmly back out of your personal space - make your reaction more than it needs to be (as in if he thinks about it get him to go right away from you - not just a step or two). He *should* learn that doing that means he gets put in the dog house and hopefully get the message.. (Though.. he is a man - he might be a persistent one..!)

If he is just being normal and affectionate, make sure he knows that this is OK behaviour and reward with scratches etc.

I don't know if this is partic helpful.. I only have mares!

I've found some geldings and stallions may get frisky IF: 1] A lady is on or starting her monthly 2] Has within the previous few hours had sex or been sexually excited .
It can get dangerous but IS good material for a laugh . Maybe he is just a perv with a crush ? You ARE a pretty girl Kenzo .....Better end this my neck is starting to arch and I've begun pawing............Sorry I couldn't keep it totally serious
