Mines already turning to mush with all the rain we have had!! so any suggestions for minimising the mud...was thinking of woodchips,rubberchips??

Woodchip and straw work well for a while, then make it worse when it gets deeper (if you have real mud that sucks your boots off like us!). The only real solution is hardcore really.

I find the opposite - I find hardcore sinks and then you end up with stony mud. I find straw sits nicely on top.

My old yard used astro turf from the local sports center when they changed their pitch?!!? I now use the rubber chips that spill out of the outdoor school!!!
