I'm so happy for you, he is lovely!

Re treats, Fodhla didn't like much of anything the first couple of days and once she began to settle she became a fiend for them.

What happy boys they look!

Mine doesn't eat treats. There's is one she likes, but I think it's because she just doesn't know what they are, never having had them before :( When we got her and we still had the JRT, she'd watch and if she saw her something she'd try it. She looked genuinely confused by most things and once we lost the JRT she lost her teacher :( I'm sure he'll
learn about treats soon.

I’m so sorry. We lost Bear, our older springer, very suddenly, although he was a good age. It breaks your heart, doesn’t it?

Brilliant to see you have the new little cocker. ❤️

Thank you so much everyone. We’ve had a brilliant first few days. All the dogs have got on. Tommy loves him. I kept him on the lead yesterday but had him on the long line today and his recall to the whistle was really good, and he’s super happy to settle onto a bed on the floor in the living room when I’m at home, and I’ve not heard a peep out of the dogs at night.

I think he chose us. Photos because he is adorable

Thank you all so much for your kind words through the initial grief, helping me find a sensible rescue, helping Tommy find a pal and Joe a home ❤️❤️❤️

Loving the beach pic! Are you up by Bamburgh? I always think our beaches up north are hugely underrated-I’m from Newcastle.

I had to rush Tommy to the vets today. I came home and he was really stiff and then Joe jumped on him and he started screaming and wouldn’t stop.

I thought I was about to lose another dog

As it transpires, his spondylosis is probably “active” and when Joe landed on his back it made him contort his spine and hurt him. He’s on antiinflammatories now, potentially going on them longer term if they really help and he moves more so it helps get his weight down

I was crying on the phone to the receptionist because I thought my dog was dying

I normally post in The Tack Room but I’m so distraught after today.

My beautiful 8 year old springer spaniel died out of the blue tonight. He was right as rain on Friday, bombing about on the beach.

Saturday he seemed a little off colour, he came on a walk this morning but was lagging behind and struggled going up a hill. I took him to one emergency vet who thought he was just feeling sick and gave him a nausea shot, and when I got home his breathing had become laboured so I took him to my regular emergency vet (I had been at my partner’s this weekend), by this point he couldn’t walk. The vet did an ulstrasoind and he was in heart failure with fluid on his heart, she went to drain it and he just died. His bloods came back with him also in renal failure and sky high white blood cells, the vet thinks he had leukemia or lymphoma.

He had lost a bit of weight recently but was still a healthy weight, he was a bundle of energy right up until Saturday morning and now he’s gone.

My beautiful Boots, Bootsy G, Bootsiliciois, Bootisicles, Bootsmeister general.

He managed one last good walk this morning where we took this beautiful photo

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. It's always so sad and hard when a pet passes. What a beautiful picture. Big hugs.
