Walking the mutts today and my boy was set on by two large labradors. They had him on his back and were at his throat. He was squealing horribly!!

Fortunately myself and my OH were able to kick (sorry, no other way to do it) the dogs off him.

Quigley stood up and seemed quite distressed (he is a bit of a whinger at the best of times), but otherwise unharmed. Being a samoyed he has a huge ruff - I dread to think of the damage if he hadn't.

The dogs owner stood by and did NOTHING, didn't call her dogs, didn't appologise, didn't check to see if Quig was okay. We asked for her details - didn't really know what else to do. Thought at that stage that it could be a vet job. She just walked away. We did get her numberplate.

Can we report this, to whom, etc. I'm still peed off! I'm not sure what it would achieve even, but I'm annoyed.

My dog is fast asleep and seems a bit sore, but otherwise physically unharmed.

because maybe next time this happens it will be a little old lady and her dog and cant kick two labradors off. dont know who you could report it two but maybe someone who could pay her a visit and tell her the importance of keeping her dogs on leads if they are aggressive.

I would report it, simply because next time as said above, someone vunerable could be between the dogs.

Dogs can sometimes fight, doesn't make the dogs bad etc but reporting a small incident like this might stop it happening again, which can only be a good thing.

As for who you report it to - dog warden may be? A stern chat should do the trick.

I can't believe a dog warden would get involved in a case of arguing dogs where none was injured or they would spend their lives knocking on people's doors.....

Agree with the above.......report it to the police and the dog warden both will log the incident incase it happenes again, and she will be warned, the dogs where out of control and thats bloodty dangerous.
She is lucky she bumped into u and not me, this is my greatest peeve:mad:, im affraid I would have waided on over after booting 7 bells out of the dogs and knocked ten bells out of her.
As suggested the next person may not be so lucky and it may be a smaller or older fragile dog...........Im enraged on your behalf and everyone else who has suffered this, the best thing about a huge mixed pack containing an akita and a rotti and me the bull dog:rolleyes::D is that owners sharp get hold of their dogs when in the vacinity, and mine are very well behaved, apart from me:rolleyes:

Please report this to the
Police and the Dog warden in the local area asap, spur them on by saying if u hear of another incident by these dogs u will be coming forward to say u have already reported them.

They certainly do where I am, they pay a visit to the owner and give them a first friendly warning, the police also log it, if they ignored it and it happened again and again they will obs look rather incompitent, esp with the way dogs are attacking left, right and center at the moment and all over the news, they need to be seen to take things more seriously.

i was walking my dog in a public park on a lead and a dog came running towards mi dog and bit her (drew blood) the women had another two dogs of the lead aswell barking and running around she didnt even ask if mi dog was ok ... i seen the same dog off the lead again about a week later ... i wish i had of reported it :/

Thats what I am concerned about - soory I didn't make that clearer - brain not working!
Dogs will be dogs, but all dogs should be under some sort of control.
Thanks I will defo report it to both the warden and the local police.
If, and I'll admit it's a big if, these dogs are aggressive, it may prevent it happening again.

Ahh, Em, that'll sort any mean old doggies out!
Quigley is a bit of a chicken and I can see him hiding behind his younger, but by far bigger, mally brother!
Lets hope Mister Mooty takes after it's aunty - can't wait to meet him!
Shh haven't told Quig yet!

UHM, surely the dog warden is there to deal with out of control dogs...which is what these two were...?

TBH I'm not sure wtf else a dog warden would do - because the ones round here are absolutely useless.

Dog wardens are not there to deal with disagreements between dog walkers or for that matter disagreements between dogs where no harm was done.

Our local dog warden would definitely do something about this. Its not a case of dealing with disagreements between owners its 2 dogs out of control. Luckily Misterjays OH was with them, if those 2 labs had had a go at my dogs who I walk on my own a nasty fight could have occurred. Incidentally our local dog warden will also check on suspect breeders as well, don't know if that is the norm but he is very good at generally keeping an eye on the dog population.

There was no disagreement between owners - nor dogs. One dog was attacked by two others. It is irrelevant whether damage was ultimately inflicted.

Police and dog warden.

My pup was attacked at 4 months by a spaniel who was (not) controlled by 2 teenage girls (they actually let it off the lead within 20 feet of my already off the lead pup). All they said, is sorry he has dog issues! I was too much in shock to do anything, but I really iregret not getting their details. He was not physically injured, but It has taken 2 months for my puppy to get over it and not run away from any dog bigger than a terrier! It's taken a lot of hard work and patience.

Should definitly report it.

Thanks to everyone.
We reported it to the local police and dog warden. they both took it very seriously and are going to follow it up. Down here on Ashdown Forest there are so many dog walkers, local and tourists, and apparently this sort of incident should always be reported (I assume this goes for anywhere)

Quigley seems fine today, and although the weather was foul, had a bounce with our other samoyed and his doggy pals The Boxers on the forest today!

Thank you again to everyone. xxx

Im glad to hear it, the ignorant witch need a wake up call:D
Dog attacks are getting taken more seriously than ever before, even if it's a dog on dog attack, u have to be seen to be heard:rolleyes::D

The are dangerous and their behaviour is covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act. I'd contact the police, dog warden and park warden. Your dog was luckily OK but the next one might not be. And I have experience of being badly bitten by trying to split up a dog fight - the next owners might not be as lucky.
