My girl has just gone under the knife ...

Took my girl to horsepital lastnight for her operation and the vets have just phoned to say she went under the knife about 15 mins ago. The op will last about 45mins to an hour.

Please, please, please can I have some of the famous HHO vibes for her to come through the anaesthetic.

From a very worried and emotional Llwyncwn.

Everything crossed it goes okay and lots of hugs & vibes.

VIBES for her. Is she the one having her annular ligament cut or something along those lines?

My lad has been in surgery this morning and I am just waiting for the call to say he is OK.

Been thinking about you all morning, have to go to work soon but will check on here when I get home.
Go on soapbox and smile at those Godiva teasers and remember when we could have had one done and would have looked half decent. Anything to keep you positive, she looked great in those pics you sent me , couldn't reply your messages were full.
She will be fine. HUGS

Yes, she's having her annular ligament cut and stem cell implants.

Huge vibes coming for your boy too.

((((VIBES))))

My boy is going to be having the exact same operation soon.

Lots of luck and good vibes from me and H (H has had both hers done too on her hinds and she's doing really well now - so there's LOTS of hope for you!)
Let us know when you have heard anything

Just got back from the vets. Thank you everyone for all your good wishes - the vibes worked as she was standing when I got there and gave me the deepest soft whicker

The operation was only about 45 mins and there are two insertion points (one for camera and one for the instrument) which have a couple of stitches in each.

They didnt do the stem cell implants due to the fact that the scanning gel would have run down her leg to the operation site and it would have been too close to the joint.

The good news is that she is coming home tomorrow

Box rest for 5 days, stitches out and a re-scan in 2 weeks after the swelling has gone down. The bad news is that the annular ligament in the other leg is showing signs of swelling so they will try injecting anti inflams first into the sheath to see if that works, otherwise it will be another op

H's mum - I have been giving her Coligone powder for the last week and have taken some over to the vets (who have asked for a link to your website

) as she can be prone to stress colic and I know that the Coligone will help.

Blackhawk - I havnt read your post in vets yet. PM me if you want to know anything about the op.

Thanks again to everyone and for all the PMs and texts, it means alot.

God Helen you must think me awful. So wrapped up in my own problems I didn't even spot your post.

Hope she's OK. Still waiting to hear what's going to be done about Carrie. It all comes at once doesn't it, first Tara dying now the vets bewildered by the other one's problems? Ali still unable to do anything this year.

Makes you worry yourself sick. It's a rotten feeling that I've never experienced before so I know what you're going through it's so fresh in my mind. Keep your end up.

Dan had both of his AL's operated on at the same time in August 2006. He stayed in for 3 days for antibiotics and pain relief and came home bandaged for another week with a few staples in. box rest and controlled increasing exercise over the next 6mths and he was back cantering and doing the odd jump, but sadly re-injured it in the field. crippled again, but rested him some more and he gradually improved. ridden him a handful of times since - sometimes he's sound, sometimes lame, but he's happy in retirement and sounder than pre-op so i dont regret it. glad horsey is round from the GA ok - scariest moment of my life - i cried on the phone when receptionist told me he was up and ok - i'd got myself so worked up as hadn't heard from them. never wanna go through that again.
