I'm so very, very sorry :( I've lost one best friend, but to lose two... Well, I won't pretend that I can imagine what you're going through. My thoughts are with and I'm so very sad that you're having to endure this. Sending you lots and lots of hugs.

So sorry to hear your terrible news. I too lost two together (for different reasons) some years ago. One of the worst days of my life but it was the right decision for Malibu and Magic, and the best I could do for them, which was a comfort. Allow yourself to grieve and be kind to yourself. I found comfort in looking through lots of photos of them and thinking about the good times. Eventually the pain lessens and the good memories remain. sending you all the vibes in the world and the strength to get through this xx

How dreadful for you. My thoughts are with you. I know nothing will make it any easier but I hope the support you have here, albeit virtual, will help in some small way. Hugs.

So very sorry to read this. you are all in my thoughts today. ((((((hugs))))))) xx

I know there are no words I can say that will help ease the pain but this poem helped me when I had to let my belovid Lucy go. xx

If the day should come when I'm in pain,
And you know I won't be well again,
Promise you'll do what must be done,
If this is the battle that can't be won.

It'll break your heart, but please be kind,
Don't let your grieving sway your mind.
For this is when you'll let me see
Just how much you do love me.

Together we've had happy years
The future now can hold no fears.
Please don't let me suffer
so When that days comes, please let me go.

For my usual vet please will you send?
But stay with me until the end.
Hold me steady, speak to me
Till my once bright eyes no longer see

In time I hope you'll come to see
It's the last kindness you'll do for me
One more time please stroke my mane
And know that I'll have no more pain.

And don't be sad that it was you
Who decided this was what to do.
We've been such buddies through the years
Don't let me be the cause of tears.

You'll always see me graze now,
with the sun upon my back
Painful limbs won't tire me now,
however long the hack.

I live now in your heart and mind,
a lovely place to stay.
And what you have in memories,
no one can take away.

Sending you all lots of Vibes and love. xx

How heartbreaking for you, you have my deepest sympathies. It is wonderful to hear of horses that have been kept and loved for so many years though, not all are so lucky. Thinking of you all today. x

Only just seen this.

Thinking of you and the girls today.

Try to take comfort in the fact that they have had a lovely life together with you and neither of them will have to manage without the other - although you will be missing both.

So, so sorry. It must be unbearable for you. I am a little unsure whether you mean the horses have both had accidents or whether it is you and you therefore cannot look after them? x

Such sadness; please take care of yourself after this is done. Grieve for your loss but also remember the good times.
Take care.

Words just cannot say how sorry I am to read this, I hope in time you can start to remember them with the happy memories of the years you have had together and the memory of today's nightmare will fade. You are doing what is best by them so try and take comfort in that, it shows how much you love them.
I hope the vet got there in time
Please take care of yourself, give yourself time to grieve and I hope you have support around you xx

So sorry this has happened to you and your girls. I believe they don't go far away, just somewhere we can't see them. This poem says it much better than I can:

I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
Gone where?
Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
" There she goes! "
there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
" Here she comes! "
