Ok, this may sound a bit strange but I've recently noticed that Red is thinner on one side than he is on the other! Particularly around the front of his hip bones where he is quite hollow. I had the physio out the other day and she said there were no abnormalities in the pelvis or ribs so he must just be wonky! Could something else have caused this or is he just a weirdo? :p Also has he put some weight on or is it just me?
The other week:

Also, his freezemark is finally coming through :D

Sorry for picture overload :D Tried to resize but I'm not sure if it's worked! :)

I think it might appear that way because he's not standing square behind, meaning that the side with the foot forward appears meatier?

He looks a very nice sort though, I like him a lot! :)

He is, I swear! :p It sounds really stupid but if you look around the front of his hip bone you can see the differences in how hollow he is on either side?
Glad you like him and think he's put some weight on :D

Is it a trick of the light????

If it makes any difference, I swear my right boob is bigger than my left and my friend has one bottom bigger than the other. I swear!!!

It's just the way we are made sometimes but if it isn't affecting your gorgeous horse in any way, leave be.

Only time I would worry if it's genuine oedema which your horse certainly does not have.

Vanner- Yes, I had to pay extra though, I wanted RED with a number but they didn't have it so I chose R3DD instead :p
tallyho- I don't think so, you can feel the difference too, I was just wondering if anyone had seen it before :p It doesn't bother me really, he's still my special boy :D
Haha Rowenna!! :D

I can't see anything wrong and I think this is an elaborate excuse to show off your horse!!!!

Gotcha!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

All I can think is that he may be slightly weaker on the 'thinner side', he may not bring this hindleg through as much as the other so has less muscle on his hindquarter on this side. Does he find it easier to work on one rein when you ride him? Particularly with regards to lateral work, bending, small circles etc, does he struggle abit on one rein? Just something to think about, alot of horses are stronger on one side just as people are right or left handed. If it doesn't affect him then I wouldn't worry about it. If he is a bit weaker on one side (eg left) then I would work him a bit more on rein to try and build up his muscles abit more and even him out.

Can see a hollow, but TBH think that is only because you have pointed it out :o
Animals often have one side slightly different to the other, and if your vet/physio have not commented I would think it is A) not as bad as it seems to you and B) a quirk of Him,but not a problem :)

Rather lovely looking lad on either side, but then I am a sucker for orange ones :D

Allysmalice- He is stronger on the left rein than the right- he does everything better on the left leg yeilding etc. That could be it actually! Will try that and see if anything happens, thank you :)
Yunalesca- At least it's not just me and it's not obvious- I suppose it's because I spent so long looking at him I'm the only one who's noticed :p Am glad you like him :D Don't tell him but I didn't really like the ginger ones before I got him- he soon converted me though ;)
