My mare must have been a hippo

My mare is funny, she LOVES cold, deep, muddy puddles (aka lakes). I have a photo of her 'half brown' from a wallowing session but actually caught her on camera today having a roll in a flooded part of the field... here she is in all her glory!

I've come to the conclusion that she MUST have been a hippo in a previous life... anyone else's horses love water like she does? I am never, ever going to try and ride her across the river!

My youngster loves to roll in the mud when she is already wet and will pick the muddiest bit to roll in too Come the Spring when its warm enough to bath her again I think I might need the pressure washer to get through the layers

That is great, my ID x Hipo AKA TB, does the same she love it. Will even try with you on if you have to walk through a large amount

Amazingly the rug was actually not that bad after she shook herself off, I whacked it off, let it dry in the sun and then put it back on. Only managed a few mud spatters on my jeans too! *feels smug*

I will be a lot happier when the field dries out again though lol...

friends horse did this for years - until she realised the reason - the horse was too hot !! Not saying its the case with yours but they usually do things for a reason. V funny video though - dont envy your rug cleaner !
