Blue light masks - effectively trick the horse into thinking it is summer. Expensive but if it fixed your problems... They do also do special lighting units to simulate daylight but the masks are easy to use
I did just look. I don’t think he’d tolerate the mask for sure. He hates things on his head.
I can’t use hoods (like Snuggy hoods that cover the face) or anything on his ears.
He went the first summer without a fly mask as they just drove him nuts.

I was really thinking about this post today. Set off on a hack in pleasant weather with my mare really relaxed. As we reached the half way mark the weather turned, with heavy rain, wind and some hail. She seemed to have a personality transplant, got grumpy with her hacking buddy, spooky and joggy. She was like a different horse. The weather was awful for a short while but nothing she hasn’t been turned out in and ridden in before. Her reaction just seemed a bit much which has got me wondering

Yes we did the same yesterday 😳 he wasn’t awful but did regress a little!
Mine did come in a bit angry so I thought it on the cards.
