Could have been worse - much worse...:-( Brought my lad in tonight, nothing out of the ordinary really until I got to the puddle outside the corner of the school. M literally launched himself into the air over said puddle, I don't know if his feet even touched it or not and I' assuming not after what unfolded next.

So I'm stood looking at him and he's shaking and snorting and really very upset, I then look at the puddle wondering what he spooked at and noticed a trail of smoke emitting from the direction of the cable (normally buried) that powers the school lights!!!

OMG we could have been electrocuted! Another livery reported a big spark firing off the metal barn which is nearby at the same time as I passed through after the lad had spooked....

I have a theory that M spotted/smelt the smoke and leapt to the other side out of harms way maybe getting a mild shock, I was wearing - thank good Aigle wellies with mega thick rubber soles as I mooched straight through the water!!

Rang YO who was there within minutes and area now cordoned off until it is fixed, we can only think that with the ground being so soft and wet and with years of heavy use the cable has risen and slipped out of it's protective tube. I am just thankful we are all ok and YO has acted by shutting power down to the area. But what a shock - no pun intended!!
