Mylo Dilemma

Perfect update, so glad the natural hierarchy has worked itself out now with the help of wise little mare.

Yes it is interesting that she has taken the boys down a peg or three. They have been with adults since weaning until they moved in with Mylo and have always been pretty well mannered and polite. I guess that is because they were lower in the pecking order? I had read youngstock can go together, so thought a pair of 2-year olds and a 10 month old would be ok. But they immediately started behaving like 'too cool for school' adolsecents, not deigning to be nice to a little guy! But Sugar has brought them back down to size.

Here she is wandering over to say hello to me, after telling Cass to back off.

Then a pic of Felix snapping away and approaching tentatively, Mylo sensibly staying out the way, and Cass being a bit bold. You can just see a bit of leg to tell where she is! She is behind them all.

Herd dynamics are fascinating! When Baby Cob came here just shy of his 4th birthday we had all the baby mouthing and he was nibbling the microcob's poo as well. She was 10 at the time and has had foals so although she's 13h she takes zero nonsense from young geldings. Just a look or a flick of her head does the trick.

Size isn't everything!!

I bet you're sleeping easier at night with that sorted.
