NAF Magic - any good ?

I used the daily supplement one on my hormonal mare (none of the mare ones worked for her!) and it did help settle her down, she still had a nice amount of energy to work but became much 'nicer' to deal with on the ground!

I would say with calmers that a lot of it is a case of trial and error, what works on some horses won't work on others so you may have to spent some time finding the calmer that suits your horse.

Yes, I have noticed a difference in both horses I have had on it. Steer well clear of topspec calmer.... turned my placid pony into a dithering mess!!

Try epsom salts, you can get it from boots but alot of horsey places do it aswell now. Its got a mucher higher level of magnesium init which is basically what naf magic is but epsom salts are alot cheaper!

Magnesium is pretty unpalatable. Main ingredient in Magic is calcined magnesite and you can buy a big back of that from an agricultural merchant for about £10.

If your horse actually has a magnesium deficiency it could help, otherwise won't make much difference except for the placebo effect on you!

I found it made no difference to my two tbs the best one I have is top spec calmer the powder tub for about 20quid that and I also give them limestone powder and I have found them both very chilled out and happier. Good luck!

I know that this is off topic but mine too! I bought a tub as I was moving yards and was worried about them stressing but this turned them into proper spook monsters!
