So the nails in my horses shoes are coming out again through the wall of his hooves. He is only shod on the front. This happened about a month ago as well and I got the farrier to come out and put the shoes back on with the nails in correctly. I am a bit concerned that this is happening again and wondering why.
His front hooves are quite cracked unfortunately around where the nails are and that's not helped by the drier weather we have had. The ground isn't rocky so it's not that. Wondering if it is the farriers technique as well as I have never seen the nails move through like this before and she has had issues with him because he is a git to her (and only her he is fine with other farriers).
Anyone else had the nails poke through the wall of the hoof more than they should? Do you think it will stop when the new farrier does them? Or is there something wrong with his hooves? Other farrier never said there was but I think she just gets fed up with his attitude to her as well.
