Narty situation...advice appreciated

AFAIK, applying to a different PIO for a horse that you know already has an exisiting passport is illegal. This horse will be registered with Wetherbys, and be microchipped.

The vet will scan the horse, so the microchip is in the new passport. If you don't have and can't find the passport then it's lost IMO;) Yes, weatherbys will issue a replacement.

Yes, well done for getting out. Now you need to see a doctor to prove your injuries and go to the police to report assault. Then the solicitor. Take photos of any bruising.
Your horse was a gift and your x has no right to impose restrictions of your freedom - that is thankfully past.
I would move the mare, whenever you feel able. Put yourself and family first and don't look back.

I also would move her. I'd be constantly looking over my shoulder if she stayed there. Agree with those who say don't pay a penny. She was a gift, or compensation for injury. It's all semantics...
I'd also be willing to bet that he hasn't changed ownership. To apply for new passport you'll therefore need the previous owner to do it. Use the new passport to change ownership to you. Tell ex to stick his copy where the sun no shiny. Alternatively, inform ex that previous owner is willing to apply for new passport and that you'll go that route if nec. He may still be awkward, but he might not.
Good luck! Your life restarts here! X

You know he is only doing this because its the only thing he has now to still try and control you. please do not give into such abuse. let him call the police, or better still you call them and tell them of your ex threats and abusive behaviour. you have found the courage to get this far so you are stronger than you think. he is the weak one by having to threaten you to get what he wants. the horse is yours, let him go to the trouble of proving otherwise.

Well done for having the strength to escape this situation. It's not easy to do as I know from personal experience. You've done the hard bit. If I were you and of course I'm not :) I'd just go and liberate the horse. YO knows it's yours so if he goes to cops what crime exactly will they be investigating? Theft? It's your horse and you can't steal your own horse..as far as I know. Plus they've got real crimes to investigate like men who beat women up:mad: stay safe, stay strong and Well Done..oh and here's a hug too {{}}

Violence of course is not just physical it is also mental, and the immature, insecure git is trying to get at you through your horse, tell him to go play in the traffic. If he bought the horse for you it is a gift and cannot be taken back, tell him to watch judge judy.

Just be strong and get a solicitor, but also make him understand she was a gift from him to you so he can go f...t against thunder.

I have my horse and a harrassment order issued by the police in place. my horse is now mine as I have evidence she was given to me as a gift and also made a substantial finacial contribution to her complete up keep accomidation and routine care as well as to complete sale.
Things are still rocky but he is not allowed near anywhere I regularly am and if he should see me in public he must leave the area or I can call the police and have him removed.
Sorry I have not updated... Hectic time! Thank you all again for you great support and advice

I've only read the opening post as rushing off to do the pony, but OMG, i am so very sad for you. What a horrible nasty thing to do, to blackmail you !! This makes my blood boil - I was in an emotionally abusive relationship, and that was bad enough.

I want to send you huge (((((((HUGS))))))), tears in my eyes as i type this, close to home. Willl come back later to read up. You will get some fantastic support on here.

Shysmum xx

WELL DONE YOU...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should be incredibly proud of yourself (that sounds patronising but Im really not being), you have been very brave and that takes guts.
Look forward to "seeing" you on here with updates of your lovely horse :)
Take care of yourself, bug hugs xxxxxx

So glad to hear this is more positive for you. You are so very brave , can't believe someone said you needed to man up:rolleyes:.

I left a violent ex a few years back (two strikes) and he kidnapped my cats including my elderly siamese. I had to blackmail him with proof that he had forged my signature to cash in my endowment policy to get two out of three back. Not ashamed of doing that and wish I'd done more, feel very bad that no doubt some poor woman ended up with the s*** after me and may have had a similar experience.
