I took Horrid out for a ride in the forest this morning. I did a route we had done before. We went down into a valley and over a bridge. I wanted to get to a grass track but the path we had taken last time was looking abit wet after all the rain we've had over the last week. I stopped to take a look around and see if there was a dryer route over to where I wanted to go. Herbs must have seen the ponies over on the other hill because suddenly he lept forwards. We landed where the ground was but we where still going down. Herbs had lept into a bog. He sank upto his belly. I quickly pulled him round and just booted him forward. Somehow he managed to pull himself out the bog. I just clung on for grim death I did think about getting off but was worried I may sink in the bog. Atleast Herbs didn't panic and we managed to get out. I think I'll give that route a miss from now on till it's dryer again. (prob not till next summer) I just hope Herbs has learnt his lesson and will listen to me when I ask him not to go somewhere. He was as good as gold for the rest of the ride and went egsactly where I told him to.
Also please could I have some vibes for Merryn. I went to put him out last night and he was very very lame on his right front.
I'm waiting for the farrior to ring me back and say if he can come and have a look. I don't think it's lammi but I have kept him in and put him on strictor rations than he was already on just incase. My OH is realy cross as we havn't even had him a week yet and there is no explaining to him that thats horses sadly.
I knew the good run of luck lately had to end sometime.
