Well as Pidge is confined to top part of field due to poorly leg (vet thinks twisted fetlock on hard ground last Sunday) and there is no grass on there I bought him some readi grass (think that's the name?) yesterday as he was missing his grass. He has 2 very much reduced feeds a day and ad lib hay. Only on day 5 of 10 days bute and vet not due to see him until the 8th May. Well this morning got to the yard and one of the electric posts was in 3 bits with several small bits in the field
gave him a very very thorough check over, not a scrape on him? no heat in legs and nothing on his head either! even trotted him up on the grass and no sign of anything wrong with him! He did have a rug on last night as normal so maybe that helped to protect him? am now confused as to what exactly happened to break the post!
So have now moved him down the field the other side of Sunny to a slightly larger area (about 20m x 40m as opposed to 20m x 20m) than I would have liked but it has plenty of grass on so I'm hoping he won't break any more posts trying to get to the grass on the other side. Have I done the right thing?
