right... set the scene
Two 'posh' wash boxes, all on ''bobbly' ruber matting. Murphy comes in from field to be washed off. Use hot power hose. He is cross tied. (Murph is 16.2hh coloured cob, 7 years old and scared of alot!)
There is me and main groom G. Iam putting rug on another horse and suddenly G is on her bum, hot power hose snaking about everywhere and frantic panicking Murphy is thrashing about breaking everything within his reach to escape. His head collar breaks and he bolts out in to the outer yard.
Can't catch him for a month of sundays, so open his stable door and he puts himself to bed. He is a quivering wreck, poor horse.
Anyway, turns out that now the stable matting has been used, swept and scrubbed clean on numerous occasions (new in September '09) that the bobbles are going. When wet its very slippery, and G slipped over, letting the coiled hose snake, squirting water all over everything including the horse! G is very bruised but luckily Murphy avoided her (that would have been nasty).
These stables were built with good advice from the pro's, but it turns out that the rubber matting can be lethal. (its a bugger to sweep too). Just to prove that some things might look amazing, but actually it might not work out as well as hoped.
((NOT MY STABLES I MIGHT ADD))
