hi all , need a push . some friends’ who are based at another close by yard have kindly invited me to a stay away show with them . i don’t know them that well but thought v kind to invite me .
this will be my first stay away show , i just bought my new 7.5t lorry at the end of last year so i shouldn’t put off using it ! slightly worried that it will me, myself and i but i know these new friends said they would support me with warm up etc . i’m based in wiltshire and the show is at pycombe for 2 nights .

I love a stay away show, i always go on my own and although I'm not a terribly outgoing person I always find people to chat to. it's almost easier when you're on your own because people will adopt a lone soul quite readily. Plus as your friends have invited you they obviously want you along.

Get on and get booked in :D

thank you .
i have a tendency of never wanting to upset anyone . i go to a lot of shows with my trainer/YM . she wasn’t invited personally by them but i know she could have joined with no problem from the others . she can’t go anyway as she has just started new job and works saturdays . but i almost feel like i’m “betraying” her by going with others . i just don’t like to make anyone feel left out but i know she is one to show her emotions on her sleeve

Do you have another friend who could go as a groom for you. I know not invited by the other two but I did it for a friend...just went for moral support and to hold & fetch stuff and top up the tea or coffee.

I'm sure she won't hold it against you :) surely she'll be happy that you're out and about enjoying your horse and new lorry. there will be other times when you can go together.

Another voting for go. I doubt your YM will be upset that you went without her especially as she could have gone too. Stay away shows are great fun and as others have said most people are usually fairly friendly and happy to help someone on their own out.
