Oh dear, poor sore boy. I have a set of photos of my mare's legs that are amost identical except she had a very deep slice on one hock, two clear shoeprints on her belly and a lump the size of a grapefruit on her hindquarters. She was elderly, part blind and arthritic and YO thought it was fine to put a new young mare straight in with the other oldies, despite the fact it had injured others at its previous yard which led to its owner being asked to leave. Poor old girl was hobbling and stiff. Lots of painkillers, manuka honey at night and aloe gel by day on the wounds and she healed up fine, although the deep slice took several weeks to grow right over.
