So my plan of getting Baby Cob out to Do Stuff is going OK.

This weekend though Doing Stuff involves wearing Posh Stuff. No problem, I have Posh Stuff lurking in drawers from last time I had a horse with 4 working legs.

Pulls out white jods. Pulls on white jods. Gets stuck at calf - seriously on on earth have my calves grown since 1906? They're not big calves in fact they are perfectly normal calves which fit in normal trousers.

Haul on white jods doing some weird dance. OMFG and WTAF - were they ALWAYS this transparent? You can literally see everything through them. Pull off white jods doing weird dance #2 whilst trying not to fall over as they get stuck on calves on way down. Obviously shrunk in the drawer then

Pull out beige jods. Realise modern materials are a lot more stretchy. Haul over legs, try to ignore muffin top and realise these are just as unflattering as the white ones - and about as transparent. Need to go shopping asap.

Find jacket. Stroke lovely navy jacket fondly and put on. Do up. Breath in and realise will need to stay 'breathed in' if navy jacket is coming out to play this weekend 🥹

Find tweed jacket. Put on tweed jacket. Have room to breath - in lovely, warm thick designed for winter tweed jacket that will be absolutely perfect for a heatwave ..........

Recommendations for non transparent, very stretchy, flattering white jods please!!

Not that helpful but some riding leggings come with belt loops now, so they look more like breeches / jodhpurs (so much comfier too!). There are just so many to choose from but the Shires Aubrion range is great if you don't want to spend a fortune and comes in a wide range of sizes.

Second vote for Shires Aubrion stuff and thanks for making me laugh in a day that's been a bit cr*p, I share your struggle with items that shrink in cupboards!

Second the vote for flexars, horzehoods are also good. Both are comfortable and flattering and definitely not see through.

Jackets - I've been converted to the modern stretchy ones where at all possible/ suitable as they're soooooo much more comfortable and cooler. Also the novelty of just being able to chuck them in the wash hasn't worn off yet either.

For your jacket just unpick the buttons and sew them back on nearer the edge of the material. I had to do that, it gives you a good inch!

Great idea!!

I've got a blue pair of Aubrion so I know they fit but wasn't sure if white would be a bit transparent? I think all my posh stuff seems to have shrunk annoyingly 😜

Horzehood and flexar seen to get the votes and are cheaper than pikeur (I'm not convinced we'll always be doing Posh Stuff. My horses usually do Rehab Stuff ....)

Horzehood have the white jods with black bottoms too which I like

Trying to borrow a waistcoat for Sunday. I'm not massively into showing so less keen to spend a fortune when it's really just to get him out & about. He had a bath today. One of us got wet 🙄

Second hand jodhpurs from Facebook Marketplace, move buttons on jacket is my suggestion.

When I first started going out again after having kids and taking time off, I got jacket and jodhs second hand. Still using them now, it’s not like they get a lot of wear! Good for the environment and if you find some locally you can go pick up yourself, rather than worrying about the post not coming in time.

I have the same disaster with my blazers swear i checked measurements too glad its not just me. Bought off ebay. Got a new navy one for a bargain £17 delivered. Just bought some Eqcouture competition legginings with belt loops (after returning a very see through £75 white lemieux pair) white stretch leggings 100% not see through, the competition white colour is extra stretchy so they recommend you size down. Though they are very grippy full seat.

Borrowed waistcoat will need safety pins I think - very large size 10 but it'll do. Although Sunday temps will be a bit cooler so might chuck the tweed coat in the van.

Got some flexar white leggings on the way. Hoping they make me look more "streamlined" 🤣
