All recommendations, ideas welcome. 40 or 6.5 wide needed. Can't decide whether to get cheap (up to £100 ish) or splash out. For general dog walking, down yard when not torrential rain. Have had toggi canyon and kty before. Both gave up after a year but kty leaked almost from day one! Like the look of tuffa country rider or tuffa Suffolk ! Too much choice.....

Have a feeling mountain horse long riding boots might be giving up so may be bonus if can ride in them..must be waterproof and comfy !

Watching with interest as about to replace my Dublin Pinnacles. 18mths in and they leak like colanders, but they are worn every day and get some serious hammer.

I rate my Dublin Edge boots, got them about two years ago from Equestrian Clearance, they don't leak and I can ride in them, I've even worn them to work when there has been snow on the ground and they still dont leak :)

I am a big fan of the HKM boots. I have had mine a couple of years and wear them constantly and they are still on good condition. I think I only paid about £55 for them from ebay. I prefer them over the Tuffa boots which were good but about 18 months and were about double the price.

Another vote for Dublin boots. Have had a couple of pairs of Dubarry and have been disappointed in how long they lasted before leaking given the price.

The good thing about Ariat is their customer service. I like my Dubarry boots too much to abuse them so not sure how well they would last if I did. Toggi canyons lining always goes at the heel and they leak nearly straight away. I like the look of them and the price but they don't last more than a year and leak for 50 weeks of it. I've had 3 pairs and won't have another. Started wearing my Ariat grassmeres BUT I can't get them on without a boot horn as it makes the ankle go funny so that's a bit annoying as I can't take them off unless at home to get them back on!

Ariat, either windemeres or grassmeres which are more expensive but both are good boots. I was wearing a thin pair of socks in this photo and my feet were still warm and dry!

(this was my pair of windemeres)

I keep one in the car as well :)

I've just bought Dublin boots for £53, ebay, there are some about £60 , I am chuffed, they are super, neat around the ankles, you need a size 7 and a boot jack. They ease a bit.

Just a quick update, bought the kanyon ash. Not what I thought I wanted but they looked great on and I have worn them for 5 hours this morning including schooling and very very comfy!
