My farrier works on a diary and requires two appointments to be booked up in advance at any one time. i.e one in say 6 weeks and one in say 12 weeks. I always book up an appointment for first thing in the morning and he is always on time and sometimes early. This way he knows exactly how many horses he has to shoe and where.

My farrier is exceptionally good - used by many people locally for orthopaedic problems etc and well regarded by all the local vet practices. He's also always on time/early, and if by any chance delayed even by 10 mins will call/text. He's also in high demand but because he's not overly greedy and value quality over quantity, he doesn't try to overbook and cram in so many visits that he makes his day unviable!
