Just come out of a meeting at work and straight on here hoping to find this positive update that they have been taken into care. Fantastic news. Like many I struggled sleeping last night thinking about them and half expected the chestnut to be down when Slinky and I went this morning.

Word can't describe how happy I am.

Well done everyone that stayed there waiting for the vet, well done to the BHS and well done to the vet who has made the most sensible decision in a matter of minutes that other authorities have been deliberating for months.

Sadly I don't think this will be the last cruelty case that someone brings to our attention however, the fantastic response of all forum members shows what can be achieved.

I don't see the problem, either way is good!

putting another party in seems to be a waste of time for hte BHS.

The benefits of using Just Giving for a particular cause is that that 'cause' (in this case the BHS) can see immediately what the total donation was, rather than totting it up. And also the person responsible for setting up the Just Giving page is able to say how much is being donated, and what the final sum was.

It's a lovely idea. Please don't criticise it.

Ok. I just dont see the merit in the BHS being able to see how much was donaated through HHO, apart from the pat on the back of course

well it would be nice only because they have been pestered by quite a lot of hhoers in the last 24hours and have been excellent about it.

have been following this, and even non-horsey members of my family were horrified at the state of the horses from the pictures.

thankyou so much to everyone involved, what a fantastic result.

go BHS!!

I think they'd be thrilled to see that a group of people who don't know each other have come together on a public forum and donated to them in response to a public outcry over these horses.

And as a group, it would be nice for us too.

yeah, as i said i thought the BHS site enabled you to put a comment which could be used to say you were donating 'from' HHO. Hey whatever, the person who set it up gets kudos, no skin off my nose etc.

Police are there, owners notified & transport being arranged.

Oh this is the best news by far...so with the police being there now...means that yes thay can take horses....oh i can't tell you at how over the moon I am.

and its nice for everyone to see on here what total is reached. everyone likes to do these things differently wm, so each to their own on this one.

Seriously, well done everyone. Thankyou so much for the support over on FB. 1033 members in less than a day, it's reached all over the world, with people who arent even HHO members joining in and showing their support.

Andy and Chloe, you are truly fab, you stuck your necks out and made your voices heard even after the authorities had ignored local's pleas.

God, I'm getting all teary now

.

I am looking foward to the other set of troops returning from Burghley later and finding out what the RSPCA's reaction was?

were all the horses removed? or just the two??

Just for the record B-2-B, I don't believe you did it for kudos!!

Goodness, couldn't you be cynical somewhere else today? How's this different from the notice in my local shop saying how much money the coffee morning raised for Macmillan? I like collective efforts, and today was a brilliant example of that.

I have been following this all day...between nappies and other elements of domestic bliss...and am now crying with tears of relief/pride/admiration and most of all a renewed sense of belief in the "power of the people". My donation will follow as will a renewal of my BHS membership....
