I've just said on FB, if every member there donates just £2 to the BHS theyd have over 3k to put towards this kind of work in the future.

Royal Society for the PREVENTION of CRUELTY to animals :-S
Hypocritical from the very core.
What the hell did they do to prevent this abuse of these horses? Absolutely bu**er all, and I for one am pleased that a group of ''hysterical women'' took it upon themselves to get these animals the care they have desperately been denied not only by their incomprehensible owners but by the welfare organisations that are in place to stop this happening.
Thank god there are still some upstanding members of the public who put the very basic needs of animals before worrying about comeback from ridiculous laws and red tape. Too many people turn a blind eye.
Rant over!
WELL DONE TO ALL WHO HELPED SAVE THE LIVES OF THESE POOR CREATURES.

I have just got back (flying into work two and a half hours late - thankfully I have an animal loving boss who is very understanding)
They say the camera never lies - it does!! The horses were worse in the flesh.....
However after hours and hours of waiting, the vet came out and gave consent for them to be taken to a place of safety. I have since had a text message to say they are safely loaded and on their way.
Big big hats off to Andy and Chloe for bringing this to the attention of every one...... and also to all of you who gathered there today - it was great to meet you all.....
Now I really need to do some work!!!

So glad this has come to a very good end...

I showed OH the pics when he was home from work and he just said that it was disgusting that they should be let to get in that state - and he had a genuine look of disgust on his face.

They must have been v thin a month ago, so I do not see how nay vet could have said they were 'ok'. Maybe it was different starved horses but in same field?

Believe me I cried!!!! not nice sight but fantastic result - tonight they will have all the love and attention they deserve and a nice warm bed, and feed and hopefully they will go onto live the rest of their lives in comfirt

The chestnut earnt the name carrot due to colour and the other was called Spud!!! but these were only the nicknames we gave them!

I have also waded through all the hundreds of posts. AGAIN this rings of the Amersham case, ok not so many horses, but blatents incompetency. There the first vet said they were all ok when they weren't. What the hell were they smoking when they came to visit them!!!

if these ponies were in Dartmoor or the New Forest the owners would have been made to do something.

They should have not been left out in a field with sparse grass. They should have been stabled.

On SU a year or so ago one lady on there with two beloved old horses had them removed without her knowledge by the RSPCA who gave her hell. They were in no way as bad as these two horses who in my opinion are starving to death.

if they have no teeth they can't eat grass and the vet should have been aware of that and insisted they were fed more suitable food. There is no way on this earth that those ponies were not suffering. Why the hell with WWH not get another vet for a second opinion or the RSPCA - isn't that what happened with Amersham in the end. They got a sensible vet.

I hppe we do get some updates. I'd like to know if the owners even bothered to turn up!!

Well done everyone. I am absolutely appalled at WWH and also the RSPCA. Especially WWH. They recent;y removed Arab's in very similar position and state and it made the news... so why not these two guys. Hands tied my ass!

I have very kindly be kept up dated by Nick, jumped for joy when I heard they were finally loaded!
Fantastic news, and a massive well done to everyone involved. From those who donated and gave well wishes to those who travelled to go take care of the situation, especially to Andy who reported them.
I hope we get an update soon with good news that they are both on the mend.

I have been contacted on FB by someone whom i do not know and who has asked to be my friend so they can 'have more details on how the horses are'.
Okay, I will NOT give out details for anything on this matter, only what is on the FB page (and most of you know more than me anyway).

I wouldnt reccomend anyone else do so either. This person might be completely innocent, but I am very wary of the slight possibility of the owner of these horses being on the warpath (maybe I'm paranoid, but I live close by and have my family to think of).

Is slinky following them all the way to the 'safe house'?
I was worried that they might go down, did they use a trailer to move them? Just being nosey really as I thought someone had taken a lorry down and it would be safer to move them that way??

charlie just tell tell them to join the FB page set up for the ponies!

UPDATE

They still have about half an hour of travel left, and slinky can still see their ears so thats good that neither of them have gone down

perhaps posting timings of departure / arrival isnt such a wise idea, afterall, it wouldnt take locals too much guesswork as to where the horses are.
