I'm really sorry to hear about Benson. I remember when he was with you. Thank goodness the WHW have him in their care now.

Without his passport.

Be careful OP, that is a criminal offence, and could get you into trouble. :o

he was with his passport she was ment to pick it up but never did as i had it here while he was on loan

But I *thought* that it's an offence to sell a horse without handing over it's passport?!

Maybe I am wrong. I'm sure someone else will know...

At moment my main priority is to find out if hes ok and see what i can do. its in my selling agreement she would pick passport up and he was sold with a passport and ive i get done for it then fine as long as hes ok.

michell please breathe ok - benson is safe now and god love WHW always will be- you need to breathe and calm (sweetheart i would be feeling same as you so not being nasty x) ok contact WHW show passport and talk to them talk if you are able to have him on loan tell them about him so if you cant you can give him best home poss and then stay in touch with them - hes safe ok and thats what matters - now you need to talk - sweetheart you are worried beating self up but your man is safe being looked after by the best people so now talk with them and get your man back if thats option - hugs hugs and cuddles xxx

hun you may have commited a crime but mmmmm your crime maybe good as you have passport lol - be strong and i have good strong shoulders hun just look to put your arms round hs neck and say "youre ok" xxxx:)

It's terrible that even when you vet a new loan home, visiting prior to letting the horse go to ensure that the conditions are excellent, it can still go wrong - despite regular visits prior to sale.

I can totally understand your upset.

Oh my god Michelle I am soooo sorry to hear this I remember you going through all the heartache of having to loan him then sell him....
What an evil b**** she should be made to starve and infect her with allsorts and made to suffer...

Be thankful that he is now along with the other lad in a safe and loving environment and hopefully they will ring you tomorrow and arrange for you to go and see him maybe? might be worth asking to have him back (if your in a position to) once he's all fed up or if not before??

Please do not blame yourself you did what any of us would've done at the time my sweet.

Benson will be OK now, perhaps try and go see him when they allow??

Please keep us informed of the outcome to this though I for one am feeling your hurt right now I am always here should you ever want to chat at any time just PM me ok. xxBig big hugs

have woman still on my facebook and as for remorse?! she on holiday in egypt looking forward to a new life. i contacted her few weeks ago to see how he was and was fed aload of ****! hes 19yr not 17 and i want to make sure he knows his medical problems.

definitly keep all informed who wish so roll on 9am as im calling again havent tsopped crying yet
im so sorry bennson

Good luck. I hope they get back to you. I only asked which centre as I know a couple of the girls at one and thought they might have met him.

Was he sold with your permission? I'm just a bit confused here. If he wasn't, then the fact you still have the passport isn't an offence. If you were paid or she was, it was her job to get the passport ofF you.

You won't be in any trouble, I'm sure, so don't worry.

For the rest of people out there who are loaning out or in, there are good and bad in all and as many superb loan homes and owners who have only the very best intentions and both parties are working together to provide that level of care and protection for their horses and ponies.

michelleice, he's safe now and you'll be able to go and see him soon, I'm sure. All's well that ends well, and perhaps you could update us with a photo when you see him? Don't beat yourself up.

Have spoken to them they want his passport fine, but they wont let me see him or have him back as courts have signed him over! waiting on a field officer calling me and all i know is hes "started his rehabilitation"

No they wouldn't allow you to have him back - at least now you've spoken to them and are assured he's fine.

Big lesson to all.

Michelleice has said why she still has his passport in the pages before...
the lady that bought him never came to collect it as per agreement of sale.

Yeh sorry I commented before reading the whole thread, such a shame she can't have him back as she's got the passport, if she can show evidence in the way of pics, maybe references that support she looked after him when she owned him, I can't tell you how I'd feel, sick.

I'd better not say what I think about the 'lady' who bought him

OMG! I read this and cried - maybe pregnant hormones not helping - you poor darling what an awful turn of events after you thought you were doing right by your boy! And what an awful woman, I really hope she gets her day of judgement soon, whoever treats animals like that certainly deserve it back by the bucketload!
Maybe if you can build a rapport with the people at this centre then if/when he comes up for rehoming then you can get first refusal. I would certainly do what someone else said and take piccys as proof of what he was like when you had him and then it gives you a little time to sort out somewhere for him? Good luck and please keep us posted. Chin up xx :)

It is good to know he is safe now.:)
He'll have seen the vet, and with the information on him you gave to WHW they now have the ability to put together a good health profile to put a plan together for his care and rehabilitation.
It can be very difficult when you arent in control of a situation involving someone you love but already just by talking to them, you are helping him.
I hope they will relax their policies a bit to let you know how he is,and give you updates, and possibly let you see him when hes back to health.
I know its easy for me to say but no amount of beating yourself up or worrying is going to change whats happened
When you sold him it was after loaning and checking, you could do no more than that, you arent responsible for this womans actions ...she is.
He is now going to be checked and monitored for the rest of his life through WHW, so take heart that something like this shouldnt ever happen to him again.
