Fabulous update, and huge congratulations on the first place!

He looks super smart hogged.A little late, but it has now been a while year (and two weeks) since Winston arrived. It's gone by so quickly!
He really is turning into an awesome horse. He's now a pretty dependable hack, and will lead others past scary stuff. Solo hacking is still quite scary and we haven't really cracked it yet, but a lot of that is down to my nerves.
He's an absolute dude to take out in the lorry, which is really important as I am often by myself. Bit he loads, travels and stands quietly even on busy show grounds.
We've been a couple of clinics at new venues, and done a couple of dressage comps, coming away with lovely comments from the judge, and some frillies.
He has also been given the all clear from the vet in terms of his canker. He will still need ongoing maintenance to keep it at bay, but at least I know it's possible. And his liver enzymes have also returned to normal, which was completely unexpected.
Can't wait to see what the next year will bring. Looking forward to going on some fun rides and riding club camp.
Absolutely love the bones of this boy.

He’s gorgeous. You’ll have a great time getting to know him.So a few weeks ago I made the decision to retire my boy Shambles, as he had just lost a bit of spark and was no longer entirely comfortable being ridden. No obvious signs of issues but was putting his ears back when being groomed and tacked up. He has quite an extensive medical history (soft tissue and arthritis) and so didn't want to do further investigations as he owes me nothing. I was lucky to find a great retirement home for him with my friend and her small herd. So he is having a great time just being a horse, and turning fat and feral.
So I needed to fill my stable. I was looking for a cob or ID type, and after trying a few saw I Winston being advertised. Enquired about him last Thursday, and went to view on the Friday. He had only arrived from Ireland 5 days before so was very timid, but seemed a very kind boy. He is 16hh and 4yrs old, unrecorded breeding. Pics are from his advert

I was really taken by his movement, as although I like a horse with a bit of bone, I would also like to do some dressage. And of course, I am loving the colour and the name!
So he was vetted on Tuesday, which I was able to attend with my own vet (never managed that before). Passed with flying colours.
And he arrived yesterday!

Understandably he is very timid and a bit worried, but he tries so hard to the right thing. His go to reaction seems to be to stop and look and suss things out, which I love.
And so our journey together begins.....
(Would love to hear people's opinions on possible breeding. I have my own thoughts but will see what others think)
